Hi all. Since December 2019, I have had 5week/8week/11 week loss and another at 18.5weeks just a week ago. The recent one was everything was fine and baby chromosome tests all fine. I am 36 and no other major health issues. Was under the consultant for recurrent miscarriages and was given progesterone pessaries til 16weeks and aspirin 75mg every day of the pregnancy.
I am so emotionally upset and haven’t come to terms with losing my baby girl ( have 2 boys . 15 and 8) and had only got her clothes etc ...

Now I am wanting to get pregnant as soon as possible to my husband’s dismay. What’s your advice if you gone through similar and positive stories if you have any

So sorry to hear you have been through this. I found out my baby’s heart had stopped beating just before 20 weeks back in June, I am around 5 weeks pregnant with my second baby. Have the hospital done all the tests that they can do on you? I will be having daily clexane injections aswell as aspirin in this pregnancy if all is well at 8 weeks x

Also, it is very early days for you if your late loss was only a week ago, so try to take it easy as much as you can. In my experience a loss at that stage is not something you will ever get over, but you will feel stronger in time, just try and get through each day at a time, or even each hour if need be

I'm so sorry to hear about your losses. Truly awful. I've been through similar and on my fourth and final IVF cycle, I took prednisolone for the first 12 weeks. The theory is the steroid lowers your immune system so if you have NK cells (which attack the embryo) it prevents this from happening. I got pregnant, kept my baby and now have a 6 year old DS. I took baby aspirin too. I also had clexane on previous version cycles but it is a very expensive drug. You can have the test for NK cells but it's not routine and again, expensive. I didn't have this test but as it was my final shot at IVF, my consultant agreed to prescribe the steroid. It could have been a complete fluke but worth asking I think. It's a low dose and the drug is cheap. Good luck OP x

Congrats on ur pregnancy. Yes it is going to take time and I probably want to wait til 6 weeks postpartum review with consultant. She was fine and has heartbeat etc but I had an infection and was at the hospital for 2 days they didn’t give antibitoics til after waters broken. They missed the reports from my first swab exam. I was told spontaneous rupture of the membrane due to infection. Nothing else was wrong. Once all my water went, she hung in there for 2 days then natural labour started and delivered :( horrible to go through labour knowing she wasn’t going to make it :( I am trying to grieve but really thought we were there when we had smooth sailing with this one til 18weeks. heartbreaking

I hope ur pregnancy goes well. Does it make u more paranoid this time around and anxious ?? Xx

@Afishcalledwonderful thanks for your post. Haven’t heard of the meds u mentioned but after my 2nd or 3rd miscarriage my blood showed high protein ( think that’s what It was) and had a report where it suggested Anti phospholipid syndrome or something along that lines. Will look into NK cells you mentioned xx

I am definitely a lot more anxious, unfortunately I think when you have had a late loss there is no safe point in pregnancy any more and I don’t think I will really believe we are taking a baby home until they are here safe and well. Thankfully I will get a lot of extra monitoring so will just be a case of getting through to each appointment. My bloods indicated antiphospholipid syndrome, that’s why I’ll be on the clexane injections this pregnancy. I would suggest signing up to the Sands forum if you haven’t already, that is really helpful for discussing with others who have been through it. I was dreading the debrief with the consultant but it was actually really helpful and aswell as going through what happened the consultant developed a plan with us for future pregnancies including extra scans etc so make sure you ask them about that if they don’t do it anyway xx

@notinthestarsigns I will sign up to that site too.thanks. There was mentions of switching me to some injection at my 16weeks appointment but nothing was arranged or mentioned. I checked before stopping progesterone pessaries at 16weeks and continued with aspirin.
Strange that you also have anti phospholipid Syndrome as well. I have my review on 13th and will definitely ask for the extra scans. I am pretty sure I am going to be a nervous wreck with next pregnancy. also I contracted some infections whilst at the hospital after the delivery and had a tough time these 2 weeks being messed about with wrong medication. Still waiting on her cremation info and had a couple of counselling sessions which I will continue xx hope everything goes smoothly for u xx
