Hi all,
Looking and buying a pram/travel system for our baby due in June. There are some good sales at the minute but I'm totally overwhelmed with what represents good value!
I'm pretty set on either the bugaboo cameleon/fox or the cosatto giggle quad. Anyone had any experience with either?
Bugaboo gets the best rating but is it really worth the extra money?

Help would be appreciated, I'm first time mum so really have no idea what things is need to look for for everyday use.

Hi OP,

I’m glad you started this thread, I was just looking to see if anyone had recently started one because I’m in a similar situation to you. First baby due in April and I haven’t got a clue about prams, it’s all so overwhelming! One review is good and another is bad, so I just end up so confused! I was leaning towards the Bugaboo Fox but I’m just not sure.
Watching thread with interest!

I'll be honest I really dislike the cosattos. They look beautiful but honestly feel cheap and plasticky. Don't steer well and feel very heavy with kids in them. DSD had both travel system and stroller in the brand as her mum loved the patterns, and I hated using both, as did DP. We did try a different style stroller within the brand when we had our DD ( secondhand - family member got it for us as again the design was lovely) and same issues. Awkward shape, difficult to manoeuvre.
We ended up with a secondhand bugaboo bee for the toddler which was lovely to push in comparison.
With our DD I tried lots in mothercare and ended up with the silver Cross reflex. It's honestly incredible. It was pricier than a lot of them and they do the other styles that are cheaper but as good, and they do travel systems which I know so many people love. Obviously we went straight to stroller as she was in the sling majority of the time when small.

Get a secondhand bugaboo. The fabrics come off and can be washed in the machine and the chassis can be washed down with dilute bleach. We bought a cam 3 for £100, looked as new once we’d washed it. Sold it after about 8 months for £175. Bought an out and about nipper which suited us better at that stage. No one I know really kept their travel system past about a year.

I’ve had a cossatto for my first then got a bugaboo donkey when second came along as I needed a double.
The cossatto is ok, but the bugaboo is a dream to push, it’s light, easy to steer, easy to put up and pack away.
I would go bugaboo out of those two any day of the week x

Thanks all, I think I will go for a bugaboo based on feedback both from here and my maternity Facebook group. Seems to be a pricer but more robust option. As I've got a while yet I'll keep my eyes open for a good condition second hand one!
Thanks again!

Bugaboo is far far superior to the cosatto. We adore our Fox 2.

We bought a bugaboo second hand from facebook marketplace for about half the price we would've paid for a new one. They are really well made and I feel like they will last a long time. The folding/unfolding is really easy, it handles really well and it's quite light to lift in and out of the car. Plus the key components (like wheels) can be bought separately so if something breaks, you just need to replace a small piece rather than the whole buggy. It's really easy to swap components like the carrycot, main seat, hood etc around.
I don't have experience of the Cosatto.

I'm due in June too and just ordered a Fox2. Feels a bit crazy so early but I knew exactly what I wanted and I know they're hardly ever on offer so just went for it.

Top tip, I got it in the sale from Bournemouth Baby Centre website and used the code XMAS5 which worked for 5% on top of sale price. Not sure if it's still valid but worth a try as codes don't usually stack with the sale prices

I'd agree with pp. We have the cosatto giggle and it's honestly not that great. A bit cumbersome and not as easy to push as others. Ours was a gift so it was great in that respect but it's definitely not the best buggy out there.

I loved the Cosatto Giggle Quad/Cosatto Wow but when I went to see one in a store it didn't feel very sturdy and as I don't drive so will be using my pushchair a lot it didn't seem like the best option, also having to take the seat unit off to collapse it seemed like a faff. We went with the Oyster 3 in the end, it has great reviews and won travel system of the year last year so worth checking out as there wasn't much price difference between that and the Cosatto
