My midwife told me to start taking aspirin at 12 weeks (today) but I forgot how much she said, it's in my notes but not the amount.

Is there a standard amount people usually take?

Normally its 'baby' aspirin so its not the standard dose. Did they not prescribe it for you?

henni85 · 26/12/2020 10:44

Usually 150mg. Half a regular tablet. I would double check with midwife to be safe though

Blissfulignorance · 26/12/2020 10:46

I was told 75mg. And 150mg for those with a higher BMI

Esssa · 26/12/2020 10:48

They don't like you taking half a tablet anymore as there's no guarantee the aspirin is evenly distributed. It used to be 75mg but I think it recently got raised to 150mg which is what I've been taking.

You can buy the low dose aspirin in Wilko or b&m. Each tablet is 75mg and costs 80p per box. I've taken 150mg in pregnancy.

150mg I take
Not a high BMI either
Previous pre eclampsia

laurenbyronyx · 26/12/2020 11:32

I just use the baby aspirin - as it's the correct dosage

HungryHippo20 · 26/12/2020 12:44

My midwife told me 150mg per day but they should have prescribed for you so best to check

Whatthedoodle · 26/12/2020 14:41

150 for me too. Not a high BMI but previous high blood pressure.

Smoa9 · 26/12/2020 15:57

I'm taking 75mg. My midwife mentioned the dose has changed recently. But I've not been told anything as of yet.

mrssunshinexxx · 26/12/2020 15:59

75mg or 150mg depending on why you are taking it
