Any advice, my lower back pain is awful. Nine weeks today. The wrist bands are finally helping with nausea but back is sore particularly in the morning.
Thank you

Do you have a pregnancy pillow yet?! I found that helped a little with back pain.

Ugh I feel your pain. I’ve tried EVERYTHING so here’s what has helped me:
Swimming - if pools are open in your area and you feel comfortable going
Yoga / Pilates - useful for stretching it out when it’s painful but found swimming better for strengthening
Pregnancy pillow - I have a boomerang shaped one from Mamas and Papas that you sort of straddle while sleeping. You could try just an ordinary pillow between your knees to see if it helps before investing in one. I got a new mattress topper too and seem to be sleeping better since so maybe worth looking at your overall bed set up. I figured if the quantity of sleep is going to go down with pregnancy and parenthood I may as well invest in the quality of it.
Birthing ball - sitting on this instead of a desk chair (wfh currently, might feel weird in the office!)
Wheat bag - one of the ones you pop in the microwave, find it really soothing for the pain and have started going to sleep with it against my back (but not too hot)
Magnesium spray - on the fence about whether this works. Sometimes it seems to help with muscle spasms, other times I feel like it does nothing. Similarly Epsom salt baths. Not sure if they help but could be worth a try for you.
Bump belt - I don’t wear this all the time but bought it in my second trimester and use it when I’m walking and it helps to support my back a bit and take some of the weight off it. Mine’s a BabyGo one.

I’d definitely try to be proactive about trying to tackle it now - the more you can do to strengthen your back early on and keep on top of it, you’ll thank yourself later on as your bump grows and your back is under more strain.

Wishing you luck, you have my sympathies! X

@jamie980band @Illy605
Thank you for your replies.
I will have a look at pillows, using wheat bags/ Epsom salts and started slowly with Pilates and yoga again. Had to have a few weeks break after feeling really nauseous and tired. haven’t done the work or famously announcement yet and waiting for the scan so suffering quietly just now. :@

Hiya, I too had the most horrendous pgp from about 7 weeks. Every time I stood up or sat down or even rolled over in bed I would get a shooting pain in my lower back/ top of bum.

I was in agony but luckily it just slowly got better day by day till I no longer had any pain. Took about 3 weeks.

I realise this isn't advice for how to alleviate the pain but thought I would share that just because it is painful now it doesn't mean that you will be in pain for the foreseeable.

Good luck and I hope you start to feel better soon.
