Hi all, I'm being admitted on 27th til my section on the 5th.

What should I pack? I only packed for 2 days and obviously need to pack more.

Any help appreciated, thank you?

Flip flops for the shower
Dressing gown
Bed socks
Slip on type slippers
Kindle and charger
Ear plugs/eye mask
Your pillow instead of the scratchy hospital ones

Hand held fan if you have one - the wards are usually heated to 25/26 degrees so it's always bloody hot

Snacks?

Hobby - I had to be admitted a few weeks ago and wish I'd took my knitting in - I'd have actually got the baby blanket finished! 🙈

Spare water bottles - so bloody hot you are constantly thirsty

Headphones for phone so you can face time people - I wasn't allowed visitors on my ore natal ward

I didn't think of a fan thank you.

Don't really have a hobby as such. I like reading so I might take a book and my tablet for kindle.

I have a water bottle and my headphones I think haha.

I was also in for a while before.
I actually took work with me to do because I’m an idiot, but couldn’t concentrate because of the steroids.
Things to do because it’s boring. Perhaps disposable like magazines or puzzles so you can throw them away as you finish with them.
I would avoid mountains of stuff because afterwards when it’s harder to move around you won’t want to be dealing with it.
Extra long phone charging cable if you have one.

Slip on shoes for coming home, anything that you don’t need to bend to put on as you won’t be able to!

Snacks and drinks
Books magazines
Anything you do like knitting if you have a hobby like that
Cash for vending machines
Phone charger tablet etc. Do they let you have power point? Not sure how that works
Dressing gown slippers
It will be very dull. Sorry.

Install BorrowBox on your phone. Free audio books via your local library. Download a couple of books and podcasts in case the WiFi is crap.
Comfy headphones. Not the teeny ones that get lost. The ones with a wire to connect the two earbuds.
Long charging cable.

Eye mask and earplugs. It's so noisy. Headphones for phone. Download a stack of stuff on DisneyPlus/Netflix/Audible now so you don't hammer your data. I'd also suggest a lavender pillow spray or lavender hand cream to smell at bedtime (can you tell I struggle to drop off!).

Snacks.

Paper and pen - I'm a list maker and a doodler.

Hairbobbles.

If you have any nicer toiletries that you "save for best" - chuck them in - you need all the enjoyment you can get before the section.

Take a bag to dump any "pre section" stuff in as you are done with it so when your birth partner leaves after the birth they can take it home and leave you with just the stuff you need post-birth.

Snacks and drinks 10000%
Peppermint tea to ease any trapped wind common after a section
Big knickers that sit above your scan
Slip on shoes to come home in
A long cord for phone charger
Arnica tablets for bruising
Small amount of cash
Nipple cream if breast feeding after

Small run of vaseline, my lips really dried out on ward. Download programmes from netflix, Amazon and BBC sounds in case no internet. Long charge cable was excellent, especially after when I couldn't get out of bed.
