BFP, but no line progression from 10 DPO to 12 DPO

Hi ladies, I wonder if you can offer some advice. I got my BFP on Saturday at 10 DPO with a FRER in the pm. Since then I’ve been using my FMU each day with FRER expecting lines to get darker, but they’ve stayed relatively the same (or it seems to me at least) The images show 12 DPO at the top and then down to 10 DPO. Should I be worried? I’ve read so much about chemical pregnancies etc. that it’s freaked me out a bit. I have one son already (14 months) and no complications so have no reason to believe this would be different but I’ve never used FRER before, and the line progression obsession is real :/ Any advice/help would be really appreciated, thank you x

That's a good dark line for 12dpo! I wouldn't worry x

The HCG only doubles every 48 hours so testing every day is a waste of tests! Youd also only expect a FRER to start dye stealing later on - mine was a dye stealer by 15dpo I think? Cant quite remember

Why repeat tests multiple times?

My kids are teens now but when I was first pregnant it went - wait for missed period, test, pregnant. Job done. I don't get the need to keep on testing?

CarlyAM · 21/12/2020 08:25

@shelbyrae Ok, maybe I just need to stop worrying then. Thank you :)

@TheDaydreamBelievers Ah ok, I think I was just probably expecting something a little more dramatic.

@Ffsffsffsffsffs I’m glad it was so simple for you

OP I'm sorry if I offended you, it's just that there have been loads of posts on 'active threads' recently about multiple tests, and I don't quite understand the need to keep testing once you have the positive result.

With my baby the tests didn't follow an obvious darker pattern every morning and it freaked me out so I stopped testing. All was well!

Aprilbaby21 · 21/12/2020 11:20

I can see progression. The line gets more and more solid on each test.

Respectabitch · 21/12/2020 11:24

It's insane to be making yourself crazy like this testing daily and looking for progression over less than a 48hr span when your period isn't even late yet. Can you see that? Totally insane.

Those are all clear lines. You are pregnant. The outcome is now out of your hands and, as you yourself have found, obsessing every five minutes has not brought you reassurance. So stop.

Hi @CarlyAM,

I used the same tests and had similar lines a week apart (did the initial test to announce pregnancy to parents but DM wanted to keep the first one). I'm now 30 weeks pregnant - congratulations!

Its really difficult with access to quick tests, the Internet, its easy to obsess. I tested a few times when I had my ectopic. My first signs of something being wrong was that the positive kept 'disappearing' .. I would have found my ectopic otherwise but it did help paint a better picture of what was going on.

Ditto failed ivf. I watched the lines get fainter until they disappeared and my bleeding started. I was prepared by that point to accept it had failed.

Line progression can be a useful tool for those who have had complications, and as reassurance.

However when doing the opposite, like it is for op, that's no helpful to her at all...

Op, you do need to put the sticks down. No complications with first, and you're getting positive strong lines. You're pregnant! Sit back and relax.

@Ffsffsffsffsffs no offence at all, but like @Ultimateblends says it’s access to the internet and all these horror stories that plays on your mind. When you want something so bad, all that information can terrify you a bit that’s all. Genuinely wish it was as simple as a few years ago, when some of that info wasn’t available to stress over. But, that said, I am one of those people that likes to know what’s going on with my body (and maybe slight control freak!) so understanding the tests help me a bit.

I think I will definitely stop now though until the 24th (AF date) and use a digital just so we have it for announcement purposes. Thanks for all your help and grounding me a bit!
