NIPT testing recommendations

Hi ladies, has anyone done NIPT testing? What company do you recommend? How did you go about the process of picking one?
Also - Did the test tell you much more than the NHS ones? (Aside from gender)

We used Beard Mill clinic near Oxford. I knew of Dr Heath ( she works independently from her converted water mill) from my previous maternity work. Results in 7 days as tested locally and she calls to discuss the results personally rather than email etc.
But that would only work if local to there?

I’ve had Harmony brand tests in both pregnancies, at whatever clinic did them locally.

They do tell you about more conditions than the NHS tests, but I think the main advantage is the higher level of accuracy (eg fewer false positives in older mothers).

I’m having the Harmony in 2 weeks at Ultrasound Direct-have already had a couple of private scans with the and really happy with the service. I know that the best place is Fetal Medicine Centre in London (Harley street). It has improved a lot in last couple of years and the blood can now be analysed in the UK too so a lot of places have started offering it now, while in the beginning it was mainly the FMC I think.
The test is 99% accurate for Down’s while NHS is somewhere around 80% from what I last read so the prediction is much better. If you’re picked to have a high chance on the NHS a lot of places now offer the Harmony before you go for amniocentesis which is invasive and has a risk of miscarriage.

I went harmony over panorama, mainly as it's what my NHS trust (kings) and fetal medical centre Harley Street use and i trust them. If don't think there's much between the harmony and panorama tbh but I was advised by my consultant that if chose the panorama, not to have the extras things (e.g. turners) beyond the basics - patau/Edwards/downs - as the results are not v sensitive and give false positives, which can then only be resolved by an invasive test.
I went with the fetal medical centre Harley Street as it's local to me.

Highly recommend Fetal Medicine Centre on Harley street. Couldn’t fault them in any way

I had the NIPT Panorama done at a private maternity services clinic. I went with them as having non identical twins and it can tell
You sex of each twin (most can't). Sample gets sent all the way to America though so took almost 2 weeks for results.

Also because having non identical twins didn't get any more results than that would have gotten from NHS combined test ie only Edwards, Pateus and Downs. But If you are just pregnant with one you get maybe a dozen different chromosome disorders screened for and also triploidy which isn't offered on any other tests

I went to ultrasound direct and they were great. They even rescanned for free when my bloods didn’t work the first time and had to go back. Unfortunately they didn’t work the second time either, but I got 75% refunded. They did offer to redo again, but I had already got a low risk from NHS at that point, so there wasn’t really any point. I would definitely use them again though.

Thanks all! I'm unfortunately not in London or would use the Harley street one you all pointed out but it sounds like harmony is a good choice. Did you all do NIPT because of old maternal age? Or just because you wanted to be on the safe side?
