It suddenly dawned on me that I'm reading a lot about pregnancy but nothing about when the baby actually arrives.

Can anyone recommend a book they found helpful?

Thanks

What to Expect; The First Year.

Follows on well from What to Expect When You're Expecting. There's also a toddler years book.

I was passed the holly willoughby book from a friend and actually despite not particularly liking her it was an easy read and had plenty of no nonsense information. Nice tone and style which builds your confidence and some good pages for reference... If you’re running out of ideas when baby is sick, struggling to sleep, reflux etc. My other half read some of it too which surprised me! I’ve started cribsheet which someone else has mentioned but find it more theoretical than useful so far - interesting to read though. For breastfeeding I was recommended the food of love but not started that one!

Really recommend The Book You Wish Your Parents Had Read (Philippa Perry) and The Conscious Parent (Shefali Tsabary) for the sort of soul searching you don't have much time to do once the baby comes. It will help you to think about which sorts of practical advice ring true to you and which don't.
