Anyone due early March?

I'm due DC4 on the 2nd March (ish - haven't had the exact date for my c-section yet).

Just wondering if anyone out there is due at a similar time, and how organised you are??

I've not organised anything yet, am going to get everything in January (and hopefully get some bargains), then I have a million appointments in February, and then he'll be here!

I simultaneously feel like its ages away, and no time at all.

Hey 👋! I’m due my second baby 12th March! Little girl this time so need to get a few bits but like you I’m waiting until jan!
I feel like this pregnancy has flown by even though it has been quite tough!

Humpf07 · 19/12/2020 20:54

I've got a date for my c section- 17th March. We haven't bought anything yet and like you are hoping to get a bargain or two in Jan.

I know what you mean about it feeling like an age but will probably fly around!

We are very lucky....This will be our first and first grandchild for both sets of our parents so think he/we will be spoilt and inundated with stuff.

I’m due the 23rd and have everything more or less sorted but the pram so far. First baby and I’ve been suffering really badly with HG so got everything organised whilst I was feeling a bit better and able to do things. We have been spoiled rotten by my in laws as it’s their first grandchild so they have bought us everything and helped me out so much since I was so ill.

HungryHippo20 · 19/12/2020 21:51

Our baby girl is due 11th March and we are pretty well organised. Nursery furniture all built, got bedding etc this week and just ordered wallpaper. Pram also bought and will be collected in feb. We were a bit early but I was quite worried about covid and what might happen.

👋🏼 I’m due 13th March and have pretty much everything bought, mainly as I wanted to get as much as I could over Black Friday and was worried about lockdowns, delivery delays, etc. Have the travel system being delivered in Jan but almost everything else is here and waiting. We’re going to do the nursery between Xmas and new year just as we’re both off work and I shouldn’t be too huge/exhausted to help! Then in the new year I’ll start thinking about the bits I’ll need for hospital bag, etc. I did feel like I was too organised too early but that’s my nature - I’m a planner - and I wanted to make the most of the Black Fri sales. The Jan sales will be another great time to shop though!

I’m due the 6th.

Everything is bought and ready but I still feel soooo not ready

So mostly everyone is super organised then! Grin @Humpf07 I’m glad there is at least one other person who hasn’t got anything yet Wink - I wish they wouldn’t leave giving op dates out so late here, I don’t get mine until the 5th Feb 😱

I only ever made sure the nursery was done before my first, for 2 and 3 I couldn’t get motivated to do it pre-birth because I know they’ll up staying in my room for about 6 months. But then I have to do it when I’ve a 6 month old demanding my time! Thanks to lockdown though, I have (remarkably) painted the room that will become the nursery this time round! My other kids want to help me get it sorted in January so I’m actually looking forward to it.

My daughter (she’s number 3 and is 6 years old) is desperate to come and get the pram in a couple of weeks - lockdown here (in France) isn’t as intense as you guys are under at the moment (although after Xmas, who knows!), so I’m hoping I won’t have too many problems.

How’s everyone feeling at the minute? I’m probably tempting fate, and will suffer horrendously for the last months, but this has been my easiest pregnancy so far, although I am starting to get tired. This has however prompted my eldest (who is 12 yrs) to start making me a cup of hot water and lemon to have in bed in the mornings (under the supervision of DH) because he wants to help out. Such a bloody cutey.

I hope you’ve not had your Xmas plans too badly impacted by the new restrictions and you all get a lush, relaxing time.

DP is only now coming around to buying things as he previously felt it was "too early" I would have bought some bits from about 12 weeks otherwise.

From what I've seen new parents can go a bit overboard and the stuff I've seen unused/new and being given away is unbelievable.

We are going to try and stick to the essentials... and probably pick things up if we find a need.

What is your lockdown like in France? We are now being told 2 households can meet for Xmas and we are back to essential only shops opening in Wales. Staying positive and looking forward to more normal and magical Christmases with a little one in the coming years.

I too feel quite lucky, other than a bit of nausea and tiredness in first trimester I feel fine. Still not looking 'obviously' pregnant and just getting the odd ache.

HungryHippo20 · 20/12/2020 08:29

@SkyBlue20 next on my list is planning hospital bag in the new year!

Still need a few odds and ends, we sorted through her wardrobe last weekend to check what we've got and what we still need clothes wise etc. Hubby counted 15 bibs and said that's fine we have plenty bibs....I just laughed and said yeah 15 should do us a day or two! 🤣it's our first so we are both a bit clueless about what to expect!!

I've had a pretty good pregnancy so far too! A bit of nausea in first trimester although was never actually sick! I've had some really bad shortness of breath in last few weeks but midwife said its completely normal with baby growing....it's quite scary though and makes me panic!! I notice sleep is getting less comfy as bump grows....but I've read trimester two is the best and I think it's now downhill from here!!

OP how lovely of your son, long may that continue when baby arrives!!

I'm in Scotland and I've just finished work in office last week so will be working from home now til mat leave in Feb. With these new lockdown measures just announced I'm not gonna leave the house til March 😬but I'd rather do what I can now to get on top of this and hope with the lockdown and vaccine we might have SOME level of normality for our babies arriving!! We had previously not been allowed further than 20km from our homes, and only going out for essential reasons (for which you had to have a written attestation with you address, time you left the house, reasons for leaving - in case you were stopped). It was so that rates dropped before Xmas. Now the 20km limit has been lifted and we can visit friends/family for Xmas. We’re spending it with friends in the village on Xmas day (who we know have been careful), but still avoiding other people for the moment. I don’t know what the situation will be in January but as far as I know things haven’t become more serious since they lifted restrictions.

I’m really hoping things are more normal by the time our babies come - if I have to be alone in theatre while I have the c-section, it will stress me out! My French is terrible when I’m stressed, which will just work to make the whole thing even more stressful. My mum is hoping to come over from England to stay when the baby comes as well, and we’ve not seen them for over a year (which is the longest the kids have ever gone without seeing their grandparents).

It’s great that everyone has had a relatively easy pregnancy!! Fingers crossed that persists until the end!!
