Felt stong kicks last week but only flutters this week

I am quite certain there is nothing to be worried about and midwife on the phone said the same. I am 22 weeks now and felt some really strong kicks last week (hubby felt them too) and it's only flutters and butterflies this week. There is movement but just not as strong (even though posterior placenta) midwife said there is nothing to be worried about as not 25 weeks yet but if I can't put my mind at ease then I should come to the hospital.

I can't decide. Maybe I should go? Anyone else went through the same? Tried the cold water and lying on left but it's still the same flutters.

Always call if you feel you need to, but generally they request you to monitor movement from either 24w or 28w depending on hospital.

For some reason in all of my pregnancies I always feel movement early then it becomes much less frequent and more subtle in the early 20s, then picks up again mid 20s.

The baby may of changed positions! I'm 25 weeks pregnant with my second and some days you can see the kicks from the outside and other days it's just subtle little flicks here and there... depends which way they are facing! Obviously if you're very worried contact your midwife again xx

The same as posted above said, it is more than likely that baby has changed position and probably kicking into your back. I remember asking the exact same question when I was pregnant!

SunnySideUp2020 · 18/12/2020 22:25

I have the same.
I think they change position so you should try to do the same.
I go on my back first then each sides and then try to do some yoga movements to get the baby moving.
I always end up feeling her strongly one way or another. Just takes a bit of time and quiet.
But if you have a feeling something isn't right call your midwife.

I'm the same as you! My midwife also told me that as the movements increase your body gets more used to it and so it becomes less noticeable! (Like it would with pain or wearing a watch or something). Whereas when it first starts you're super focused on it. Makes sense to me and reassured me!

Thank you, everyone! that's exactly what I thought too, he might be in a different position now. On the contrary, my feelings are that everything's right! :) and tbh I have felt more moments since I posted this.

@User415373 that theory makes so much sense!
