Third trimester - when are babies head down?

Hey, this is my second baby, I'm 32 weeks.
Had a scan this week, which showed the baby was head up.
Babies been head down previously - at my 31 week midwife appt.
The midwives have mentioned ECV to me, if baby is still breech at 36 weeks, and also touched on elective C section, if that doesn't work.
My question is - is this even something worth worrying about at the moment?
I honestly can't remember ever being aware/worried about my first baby being head up or head down at any point in the pregnancy - she was born at 37 week, total normal delivery, so obviously no breech problems.
I'm keen to avoid a c section, but obviously if thats the way it works out, thats just how it goes.
Is the baby expected to be head down at this point? Has anyone else had their babies flipping around a lot in the last couple of months?
Is this something to forget about until I'm 36 weeks, or should I be trying to turn the baby?
Thanks x

36 weeks is when medics get excited about it (from experience). DD was doing loops until she was born (by C-section); we recorded every possibly position between 36 and 39 weeks! But I don't think that's normal.

Mine was breech from our 4d scan at 26 weeks until mw appt at 34 weeks where she'd turned. I think they just flip around loads up until the last month or so so try not to worry x

Your midwife shouldn't have worried you!!
I'm 32 weeks and 4 days ago my baby was head down, now it's to the side. I bet it will be breech by the end of the weekend!
They still have a bit more room to dance in there. Don't think about c section yet. Xx

Thanks everyone for the messages - i feel pretty relaxed about it now.
I thought it was a bit surprising when the midwife brought up c - sections so early, as I can't remember anyone even mentioning worries over how my first baby was lying this far away from the due date. xx

Mine was transverse when I first started feeling things, then flipped head down at around 27 weeks, and stayed like that for about 2 weeks! (showing off for the midwife appt)
Now at 31 weeks I think she's back to transverse! Think she still has plenty of space at this stage!

My last DC was breech until about 38 weeks. I had a few contractions and thought it was labour starting, but turned out he had flipped and stayed put until past 41 weeks.

My twins were still managing to do complete flips at 35 weeks albeit very uncomfortably and I definitely knew about it! They each managed to record a various amount of each position at different times including both being head down/breech until they eventually decided on both being head to toe transverse with each other!

Mine was breech at 32 weeks and had turned by 36. I think I was told most have turned by 36 weeks, so I wouldn’t worry til then! In the meantime spend lots of time on a birthing ball to encourage them down Smile

Mine was transverse until at least 37 weeks. She then had her head in my hip (so pretty much head down) by my last growth scan at 38 weeks. She was born at 40+5.

Plenty of time for baby to turn!!!
