Hi, I was diagnosed with blighted ovum
On weds. Empty sac measuring 24mm, so around 6/7 weeks sac. I was booked in for MVA tomorrow morning but I started having a bit of blood when I wiped after peeing last night and more this morning so it seems to be happening naturally.
Has anyone else naturally miscarried that can give me some advice ?? I have still just got blood when I'm wiping and a few tiny tiny clotty bits and it's been almost 24 hours.. but definitely seems to be happening.

I'd much rather my body do it's thing and Iv got all the pain killers and pads etc ready.
Please positive stories xxxx

Mine started bleeding with mild period cramps, I had clots followed by brown blood initially. On the second day the mild cramps ramped up into full on cramps.

I'd never experienced it before so I didn't take painkillers at that point. I ended up having a lot of diorrhea (sorry of tmi) and a strong, intense urge to push. I then passed the pregnancy.

The pains were like contractions, they were not that intense for very long and once it passed they returned to mild cramps.

I bled for a further ten days, it got lighter as the days went on.

I recommend a hot water bottle, strong painkillers I had to take paracetamol and codeine. And as much rest and comfort as you can get. I had no appetite but snacked on chocolate and generally stayed on the couch. Oh and a hot bath too

It's a hard time and you need to be kind to yourself, I'm so sorry you're going through this.

I never had any advice from my gp or epu so I didn't know what to expect.

Sending you big, big hugs x

I had a missed miscarriage, I guess that's very similar. Embryo stopped growing the day it attached the uterus wall, so was about 2 mm when it should have been much larger, and no heartbeat.

Same as you, I started bleeding before the operation. It was like an extremely bad period, but as I was 12 weeks there were lots of clots that came out. With some pain relief for the cramping it was all over in the same timeframe as one of my periods.

I was pregnant again before the due date of that baby, and DS2 is now an adorable 11 year old. To me HE is the child I was meant to have.

For me the missed miscarriage was just my body doing too good a job of keeping a pregnancy going when it should have let it go much earlier. So I took that as a positive sign, that getting pregnant wasn't going to be a problem.

Thanks - I cried and raged during the miscarriage. My best friend came over and raged together with me at the unfairness of it. Getting all that emotion out really helped, I needed to mourn, and we did that over a bottle of wine which helped me stop being stoic and to just let the tears flow.

@pringlebells thank you , really helpful advice. How far along were you? How big was the sac do you know?
I'm really hoping mine doesn't get awful awful. It's odd as it's clearly quite bright red blood when I'm wiping but zero cramping at all today. I went for a drive and it was in the pad but only a tiny bit, put on a new pad and there's only a tiny bit in that too... but when I wipe it seems more and there is tiny little clots, and I mean tiny I'm talking like 1mm... but deffo clots. Hopefully it happens during the night or tomorrow or some time soon! Hope the worst isn't on Christmas Day. I can cope with bleeding on xmas day.
My boyfriends mum is a midwife and my mum a nurse so they have been a godsend, and I am keeping them updated on the sitch, but nothing is more useful than speaking to other women who have experienced the same..... thank you muchly xxxxx

@ClaryFairchild thank you lovely. I'm hoping mine is just like a bad period. I was actually due to have my 12 week dating scan today, but things changed last week with some shoulder pains so got checked out for ectopic... it wasn't that but I'm glad we found out before today. I'm really not wanting to go through the op so hoping I can do this at home! I soooo want to go and have a drink with my friends so hoping it happens quickly. My actual sac size is 7 weeks so do you think it will be similar
To a heavy heavy period ? Especially
As it's empty.. no yolk and no fetal pole so litterally just a 2.4cm sac xxx

This happened to me. I knew I was about to miscarry, but I was on a weekend away in Rome so I was really panicked.

It started with period like bleeding for a day or two..whilst on holiday, I had some back ache etc and went back to the hotel room. Had some strong period cramping for a few hours and spent quite a while in the bathroom. Once I'd passed the sack, the bleeding was like an average period and stopped after a week. Pain wise, I took paracetamol and the bleeding wasn't at any point terrible. Take care of yourself.

I can't remember the size is the sack, but at 13 weeks it was sizeable.

The clots were quite large for me, and I could feel the difference between the clots and the other bleeding, but there was no difference pain wise between them.

I don't think yours would be quite as large, so you might not feel much if a difference between the lining and the clots.

The biggest difference is that pads couldn't hold the clots, so I really did have to stay at home. But the clots passed within a day or two from memory.
