Missing First Midwife Appointment due to Covid

I was due to have my first midwife appointment this week at 9 weeks (sorry not sure of all the 5+3 way of saying how many weeks yet as this is my first) but I've now been advised to self-isolate and have also tested positive myself so won't be out of isolation until Xmas eve.
The next appointment my GP can give me is the week after Xmas when I'll be 11 weeks. This seems rather late and the receptionist at the GP could only say "Well yes you are meant to be seen at 8 weeks" Hmm she advised me to contact the hospital but they're not answering the phone, I've emailed but nothing seems to be coming of that either.
I was already experiencing quite high levels of anxiety (have also made appointment for CBT for this but soonest availability is first week in January) and this is only serving to make things worse so I thought I'd turn to the internet for answers!
Any advice or reassurance would be really appreciated.

Really and truthfully it matters not a jot if you have the appointment at 8 weeks or 11. It consists of the midwife taking your history for later in the pregnancy, no more and no less. Some areas have a convention of doing the booking in appointment at 8 weeks but others don't bother until 12. It doesn't really matter. The only thing that matters at this stage is that your dating scan happens between 11 weeks and 13 weeks 6 days, because this is the period in which it can be most accurately dated.

99% of the time the 8 week appointment is being done over the phone - you don't need to be seen in person - the midwife just goes through an iPad/computer programme of set questions. I don't know anyone who has done it face to face in the entire last year since covid so I'd ask if you can do that instead. You need it done around 8 weeks as from that the midwife sends the referral to the hospital to arrange the 12 week scan

Ah ok, thanks so much for such a speedy reply, that has really put my mind at rest Smile I thought the receptionist may have said as much but then she just seemed put out about having to change my appointment and her remark about 8 weeks made me worry.

As far as I can tell my area are still doing face-to-face, I know a friend of mine went in for hers at a different surgery as well

Don’t worry too much about it. They forgot to do my booking appointment (meant to get a call 7-9 weeks) but nothing happened and when I went for my 12 weeks scan, they took all the blood needed for booking and nuchal. I had my phone call 10 days after
