I know there are a million threads like this but I'm feeling so stressed and alone rn :(

In September I had an early mc and looking back the only signs I remember were I had a total lack of symptoms and some minor cramps/lower back ache.

Now I'm 5w2 and having the same symptoms. I had a few signs (boobs, digestive issues, emotional, tired, headachy, frequent urination) the few days after I got the + but since then about 4 days ago I lost everything - no soreness, no headaches, digestion and everything totally back to normal. And I've been having mild cramps and back pain.

I'm going to call GP tomorrow to get referred to epu for a scan but until then I just wanted to vent! I'm caught between wanting to stay hopeful and just knowing how I feel which is that all symptoms have completely vanished like last time.

If anyone's had the same let me know x

I'm sorry you're going through this. It's an awful experience.

I would try to stay positive. According to the nurse I saw last time, a lack of symptoms or even loss of symptoms is really not something to worry about. Each pregnancy is different and just because you had symptoms last time doesn't mean you will get the same this time round.

Sadly for me, I had no symptoms at all this time which did mean I had another miscarriage but I started bleeding at 7 weeks. I guess I already sort of knew deep down though.

Fingers crossed for you. Flowers

Thanks so much @Username54789129671 and sorry for your losses 💖 it is the absolute worst isn't it.

In between jiggling my boobs trying to get them sore I keep trying to tell myself all the things I'll be able to have if it happens again - coffee, sushi, wine - to try and make myself feel less gutted. I have the same 'deep down' feeling as you :(

But whatever happens happens...it's so good to be able to talk to other people who understand what you're going through x

I really feel for you. It’s just the most hideous thing to happen and happened to me earlier in the summer.
I hope and pray that this is not happening.
However if it is - I would ask your dr to be referred for a hysteroscopy. This is where they shine a little camera inside your womb under general anaesthetic. This revealed for me a fibroid and some endometriosis which were both potential causes of my miscarriages. They sorted both there and then. This was all done on the nhs during covid and I became pregnant again 6 weeks later. I am so glad they looked so that this cycle didn’t keep happening over and over as it is the most painful (emotionally) situation to go through once let alone repeatedly.
Sending a hand hold and hoping all is well @shelbyrae. Flowers

Oneandabean · 13/12/2020 17:17

I had a few early symptoms but then they disappeared I’m now 33 weeks. I worried a lot in the early days but a lot of women I know who have had mc have continued to have symptoms for a few weeks after, so it’s not a sign that anything is wrong.

MarMarLdn · 13/12/2020 17:23

I totally feel you @shelbyrae experiencing the same fear as you today. I am first time pregnant and from morning to night yesterday my boob soreness disappeared. This has been my only symptom to date and I am 6 weeks. Just as terrified as you and am considering an scam to help ease my mind.

shelbyrae · 13/12/2020 18:53

Thanks everyone for your replies. Just back from dinner and feeling crampy and rubbish but it helps knowing I can ring GP tomorrow

@LittleTiger007 Sorry for your loss but so happy for you on your new pg! Interesting you mention a hysteroscopy - I have PCOS so will definitely ask about that

@Oneandabean thanks for your story and congrats on your baby, it's encouraging to hear positive outcomes!

@MarMarLdn ah I'm sorry you're in the same position, I would definitely encourage an early scan just to ease your mind. I actually had the same happen to me with my successful pregnancy - I lost all my symptoms at 7/8 weeks for a bit and all was fine x

This happened to me, my symptoms disappeared and were replaced with cramping and back pain. I was convinced it was an ectopic pregnancy as was EPA but scan showed a healthy heartbeat on an 8 week baby. The cramping was caused by an internal blood mass which my body managed to reabsorb sometime between my 12 and 20 week scan.
Try not to worry! Not long after my scan I ended up with sickness, major food aversions and sore boobs and at 20 weeks now, those symptoms are only just starting to settle.

jdy123 · 13/12/2020 22:01

Hey I had loss of symptoms in the early weeks every few days, they would come back at some point and then would go again. I'd have periods of a few days where I didn't feel pregnant at all and would worry like crazy. My 4 month old daughter is currently sleeping on my shoulder.
I know not all loss of symptoms is a positive but it definitely can be normal !
Wishing you all the best x

LittleTiger007 · 14/12/2020 08:09

@shelbyrae I have pcos as well and I do recommend the hysteroscopy to get things checked out as some issues can be rectified easily but can’t be seen without the exploratory camera. Hoping that this won’t be necessary though and that all is well.

@MarMarLdn I’m sorry that you are going through the same. Just be a little cautious with the private scan route... I got a private scan at 9 weeks to reassure me and they said that I wasn’t pregnant! I was devastated and could have gone home and had a drink and generally damaged my babies. It was hideous thinking I had had a miscarriage when I was in fact very pregnant with twins! The woman didn’t seem to know what she was doing, we saw a baby on the screen... or we thought we did! But she couldn’t find anything. What a waste of £70! And the worry/grief was hideous. I wish we had waited for the nhs scan.
The woman at the private clinic couldn’t offer any explanation she simply said, “sorry I only deal with babies” so she had no advice regarding miscarriage or anything. It turned out my womb is an odd shape (retroverted - which one in five wombs are) and the babies were hiding. This was in Cambridge by the way.

PurBal · 14/12/2020 08:22

I'd try not to worry OP. My symptoms have been on and off since 7w. Agree with PP about private scan, if you feel you need to go that route make sure it's with an obstetrician (I usually go via the Nuffield) and not one of these souvenir places. A private scan with an obstetrician will cost a few hundred, but it's actually diagnostic. I'm not against the souvenir places btw, they just serve a different purpose.

shelbyrae · 14/12/2020 09:06

Thanks so much everyone, so I have been booked for a scan at the EPU at 2pm which is putting my mind at ease - at least hopefully I'll know one way or the other. GP was really understanding and referred me straight away. I'll update the thread once I get back x

@VHB88 lovely story so happy for you :)

@jdy123 thanks for your story and congrats on your little girl :)

Thanks @LittleTiger007 I definitely will - the annoyances that PCOS causes! I thought the hair growth was enough of a hassle!!

Thanks @PurBal yeah definitely agree I'm getting mine done at the hospital, and good luck with your pg :)

Hiya!

This happened to me on Friday. I lost symptoms and had a few tiny dots of blood. Went for a scan and saw no baby only something which they couldn't confirm was baby as only 2mm. Had some blood work done which said my hcg was 637 which fit with the scan that it's early days and my progesterone was 46 which they said is really good and shows my body is supporting the pregnancy well.
Had some more bloods today to make sure the levels are doubling. Fingers crossed. But I feel positive. Hope this can give you some hope.

But like you I lost my symptoms! They said it can be normal I think just take it as a blessing at the moment! Hope your scan goes well and let us know the outcome ❤️

Trousersareoverrated · 14/12/2020 12:31

It can be totally normal. I’ve had similar and all is fine now. Thinking of you.

MrsMDD · 14/12/2020 18:07

Best of luck with the scan. My symptoms keep coming and going too. I should be 9+5 and have a scan in a week hoping all will be ok. Its so nerve wracking!

shelbyrae · 14/12/2020 18:25

Hey, thanks so much everyone for your messages - just wanted to update that I am measuring a good size for my dates, it was too early to see the heartbeat but they were happy and said everything was on track. :) I can't believe how much I was stressing before! Feel sooo much better now.

@Gemmaemilyx thanks so much, that must have been so scary but such a great outcome!

@Trousersareoverrated thanks for the reassurance :)

@MrsMDD thanks and good luck with your scan! :)

Thank you everyone for your support and well wishes, it means so much during this crazy nerve wracking time! GL everyone with their pgs/babies 💖

Brilliant news! Flowers hoping and praying things continue this well for you x

Symptoms come and go, and sadly many women continue to have strong pregnancy symptoms after a MMC has taken place. It helped me to realise that they didn’t mean anything.
With both my babies there was a loss of symptoms (and heavy bleeding in the first -and second trimesters) but both were born healthy. Nothing means anything, else we wouldn’t need scans.
