My insurance says under GP advice. Clearly not everyone who has a c section is going to get sigh off from their GP especially right now. What are people doing?

5weeks.
I was with DD , born v.prem, 75miles from home, when I had to leave the hospital, I drove daily to see her

Pyewhacket · 12/12/2020 22:54

4 weeks, insurance just needed letter from gp IF anything happened, got letter from gp but never even had to send it to insurance company.

Babyjune21 · 12/12/2020 23:14

I waited 7 x

Meredusoleil · 12/12/2020 23:17

Rainb0wDrops · 12/12/2020 23:17

4 weeks, didn't consult doctor but knew I felt well enough and able to do emergency stop.

Mumblechum0 · 12/12/2020 23:18

2.5 weeks, probably too soon but I had 0 support

propertyhell · 12/12/2020 23:19

3 weeks after an appt with a Dr. Not everyday and just short journeys initially.

thismeansnothing · 12/12/2020 23:21

My insurance didn't need anything either time.

With DD1 about 6/7 weeks but I struggled with recovery with her.

DD2 4 weeks. Planned section and tons easier on my body. Could have driven sooner but didn't needs to

8 weeks after first and 3 months after second. - I had bad recoveries.

Sister drive after2 weeks.

No one checks with their GP.

If you feel you could do an emergency stop you should be ok to drive.

SameToo · 12/12/2020 23:27

7 weeks. Would have waited longer but couldn’t.

You can drive as soon as you are confident you could preform an emergency stop I believe, but you can call your insurance company to check.

gettingfedupagain · 12/12/2020 23:32

2 weeks as my baby was premature and I was at home with two other DC, spending hours on two buses everyday to see him for only a couple of hours during school hours

Justfivemoreminutesplease · 12/12/2020 23:32

I called my insurance company who said I should rely on medical advice and so I spoke to my doctor who said as long as I was happy to have a seatbelt on, then he had no concerns.
First baby I think I waited 8 weeks, second baby 6 days 😆 She was born just before Christmas and I was desperate to get out of the house. I think I drove to Tesco’s for nothing other than to get some time to sit alone in the car park!
