Does anyone know what these are? It used to say in the nice guidelines but it doesn’t anymore and I can’t seem to find it anywhere. I know the idea is to keep tsh below 2.5 in the first trimester but no idea beyond that!

Thanks

@Anniemabel my local endocrinology department says under 3.7 for first trimester, can’t recall the rest of the ranges though x

They did my T4 at booking and you can see the reference range in the photo (I'm not sure if it's trimester specific but my result wasn't flagged as a concern). I believe TSH should be under 2.5 in the first trimester. Mine was 5.5 when I had my first test just after I found out I was pregnant Shock The increased demand is obviously really immediate! It's now 2.2 after a 50mg increase in my thyroxine dose. My doctor said to get it tested every 6 weeks at least.

@mamababy1955555 hmm that does make me worry as mine was 3.5 a few months before conception, didn’t think that pregnancy could raise it so quickly. When was your TSH found to be 5.5? I’m 6+4 and have my booking appointment next Tuesday so will be sure to mention TSH x

I think it differs slightly per hospital but these are the guidelines for a hospital in my area

@MintGreenLife I would call your GP. Mine said if you take less than 100mg you should immediately increase by 25mg, and if you take more than 100mg you should immediately increase by 50mg. I think I was 5.5 around 5 weeks pregnant.

But... don't worry too much! This is my second pregnancy and I was definitely slower to increase in the first one because I didn't know I needed to. My son is totally fine.
