I was prescribed movicol on Wednesday for conspitation as I couldn't go for 10 days .
It's definitely working.
When can I stop or reduce?
I'm worried about taking unnecessarily but GP said it was fine.
I definitely plan to up my water and fibre intake to try and prevent it Getting so bad again but it's been like it since I fell pregnant. I'm 14 weeks 2 days now

If you've 'cleared the backlog', I'd be tempted to reduce the amount and see if you still keep going ok. If things slow down, up the amount again.

I think it’s something you will need to learn to adjust yourself. Maybe try reducing the dosage by 50% and work from there, increase or decrease, depending on your movements. And definitely increase the fibre and water intake.

I took it every day from 12 weeks until 4 weeks after my section.

After I'd cleared out, I took two sachets a day.
It's absolutely fine to take long term.

You can take it long term for the pregnancy but since you have cleared the blockage it would be better to swap to a different type of laxative for prophylactic management. Movicol is an osmotic laxative. Try using lactulose (which will grease the path so to speak, without drawing extra water into the bowel) combined with bulking laxatives -fibre based ones. These should help prevent a build up, but if you found yourself constipated again then you can use movicol. Drinking more water will help too.
