Labour induction!

Hello!
I am suffering with PGP and this is my second pregnancy!
My midwife has suggested I could be induced at 38 weeks.
Has anyone been induced this early before? She told me it also comes with its complications with your body not being prepared. I'm a bit lost on what to do!

Hi, I was induced at 37 weeks (type 1 diabetes). For me it resulted in a c section but I was earlier than you and it just wasnt happening. It was a generally positive experience ( no complications at all). Loads of people have babies naturally at 38 weeks. My baby is 6 months by the way and no issues at all. If your consultant or midwife thinks it is best I would usually go with that.

Good luck Smile

I am getting induced at 37+6 weeks in a week's time (17th Dec). First baby for me and no experience of any other type of birth/labour. I am a little scared but am positive that I will be in good hands.

I was induced at 38 weeks. I was really against it but the consultant said the baby would be at risk if he wasn't out soon as my placenta had stopped working. It turned out I was hypersensitive to the pessary so labour came on very fast and very painful, but aside from the pessary I had a completely natural birth and baby was born healthy. I got two extra weeks with him and he was no longer at risk so it was the best thing that could have happened. Lots of luck.

I was induced at 38w on the dot. Had the pessary at 6pm Friday and he was born naturally at 3am Saturday. Compilation free despite everyone trying to put the willies up me telling me how long and painful inductions can be.

I was induced at 37 weeks (pre-eclampsia). My bump hadn't even dropped by that point, and my body absolutely wasn't ready. The induction wasn't really working, until the drip got put up. Then it worked just fine! There were a few concerns about baby decels, resulting in a FSE. Other than that, there were no other complications. Baby born with no interventions after 12 hours active labour.

Even though it's early, I'm assuming (apologies if I'm wrong) this will be your second labour. So your body already has an idea of what it needs to do. In theory, it should respond more readily to an induction than it would if you were a FTM.

Thank you all! I hope all is well now!
I was induced with my first and it was very long! I am so not prepared this time round and don't know if I could do it alone due to covid!
