Please, pretty please...

ds aged 5 asked this morning why I was still poorly and not getting any better?

I'm sick throughout the day( but haven't sicked up much yet iykwim,) and I'm only 6weeks 4 days. I have spaces where I can operate as a normal human being and the rest of the time I'm asleep or hanging over the toilet.

Saturday night I slept for 10 hours then yesterday afternoon I went for a lie down and slept for 2.5 hours!

any advice gratefully received

Thanks
Deb

i found jatz crackers helped immensely - i ate them constantly

and keep remembering that it will pass and between 12 to 14 weeks you'll feel a lot better

I ate Jacobs cream crackers and lemon barley water at first and then a few weeks later found that ginger biscuits and ginger beer with ice helped when feeling nautious (sp?).

i always found the the 'morning sickness' was worse in the afternoon.

I tried to continue eating a variety of nutritious meals - it didn't work.

Just ended up eating things that i could keep down! or that just didn't make me feel sick. And took a pronatal multivitamin.

I was the same with the sleeping (and to some extent still have that at 26 wks)Nothing you can do about the fatigue, apart from go to bed and sleep properly. Your body wants and needs it.

HTH. It will pass.

have you tried those anti sickness wrist bands? You need to wear them all the time. They work by putting pressure on an acunpuncture point on the inside of the wrist.

Toast, toast and more toast! I found that I felt worse when hungry, even though I didnt want to eat anything. Toast seemed to be the only thing I could eat, it was my saviour. Bang on 13 weeks, it all stopped for me and I've felt great ever since, it will pass, hang in there

hi definitely crackers next to the bed and have one before you get up, keep eating little bits of toast etc.

If you really have a problem there is a homeopathic remedy called ipecac but you really should go to the homeopath and check this out very carefully before using.

Good luck, i was sick for 7 months.

Yup, I agree with several points made on here. I found that the hungrier I was the more sick I got so I made sure I nibbled on something every couple of hours regardless of whether I felt I needed it. It really did help soften the sickness. I lived off cereal bars and little cartons of fruit juice.

As for ginger, I kept ginger biccies by the side of my bed and didn't even lift my head off the pillow until I'd scoffed a few (my dh gets up just before me and would slot one into my mouth on his way to the bathroom). I was also given a bottle of a concentrated ginger drink (I think it was Rochester ginger) which saved my bloody life. A snall nip was all that was needed (it is v strong n sweet) to ease the sickness.

And as for tiredness the best I can offer is go with the flow. Don't beat yourself up over it. I slept for the first four months of my pregnancy. I was like a sedated hedgehog in hibernation. Instead of getting frustrated with it I just planned my days around it. When a friend pointed out to me that I was growing an extra human being all by myself it made sense that I was feeling shagged.

All this does pass though. It's not much help when you are mid chuck/ kip but it does pass. And you don't half appreciate a bouncing second trimester when the first trimester was such hard bloody work.

I hope this helps!
