Currently 6+1 with baby 2 and nauseous from waking up to going to bed 😭
Have anti sickness tablets but they don't seem to be doing much to ease it :(

What have you found that helps with the nausea? I'll try pretty much anytime at this point! DD is only 5 months old and DH is working full time so can't spend all day on the sofa like I did with my last pregnancy

Sea bands and ginger bread men worked well for me x

Pumpertrumper · 07/12/2020 08:17

Oh OP!

It’s shit. I had HG my entire first pregnancy and bad nausea most of this one (slightly better now 12 weeks and taking meds). DS was 6 months when I got pregnant so I REALLY feel your pain.

Nothing worked for me. Other than time. I’m praying I do actually get better this time. Last time lasted till I gave birth!

Any family who can support?

DH works 60+ hours in the NHS so couldn’t take any time off. Luckily during the worst DM and MIL alternated days to help out. Otherwise I’d have been in hospital.

Two slices of dry toast on a morning! Just nibble at it. It was a god send for me during morning sickness!

Mommabear20 · 07/12/2020 11:33

Thank you all for your responses!

Our parents work or have other grandkids during the day so unfortunately can't help 😔

You have my sympathies, it's bloody miserable isn't it :(

The only thing that really helps me is to try and not let my stomach get empty. I also cater to every whim i've had, whatever I fancy, I eat. Even if it means I've spent an extortionate amount on sausage and egg mcmuffins in the past two weeks! I hope you start to feel better soon.

Chewing gum! Sounds too simple but discovered after about 2 months into sickness that if I start chewing it the moment the sickness starts it really does help!
Worth a go.

Ice lollies were my saviour.

78percentLindt · 07/12/2020 21:24

Agree with PP about Sea bands . Also ginger but preferred lumps of cystalised ginger from Grapetree.

grassisjeweled · 07/12/2020 22:46

Carbs

Cookieedough · 07/12/2020 22:48

I lived off of ice lollies, Diet Coke and banana milkshake

Moo31 · 07/12/2020 23:12

Eating every 2 hrs and not letting myself go beyond 2 hrs. Little and often. Carbs carbs and more carbs.

Babyjune21 · 08/12/2020 07:17

SnuggyBuggy · 08/12/2020 07:21

Some sort of plain biscuit every hour was my strategy.

Standrewsschool · 08/12/2020 07:26

Arrowroot biscuits - tip from my mil.

Ginger nut biscuits

Honestly nothing. I ended up on 2 different types of medication. Jeep pushing your doctor to try something else. I ended up with a mixture of the third and second prescriptions they gave me. 9 tablets a day, and that only eased the way I felt.
None of the recommendations to eat ginger or plain toast, or wear sea bands have ever worked for me (this is my third), with the last 2, I didn't even know there was medication you could take.
I'm 33 weeks now and it has got very slowly better since about 25 weeks. Still feel like crap sometimes though. Good luck.

Meomeomeo · 08/12/2020 07:31

Nothing worked for me but boiled eggs helped

Meredithgrey1 · 08/12/2020 07:41

Medication and sea bands. Plus when I was too nauseous to eat much (but knew eating would help) I’d force down raisins literally one at a time just to get something in my stomach. I also found sour juicy granny smith apples would help, I think the juice would help get rid of the horrible feeling in my mouth I’d get.
Plus ice lollies, and drinking smoothies very slowly.

DinosaurGrrrrr · 08/12/2020 08:06

Sipping ginger tea or nibbling carby food (I didn’t want to sit eating all day so the tea was the lower calorie option). I hate ginger tea but it did stop me feeling sick whilst I drank it, it came back as soon as I stopped drinking though.
