I am on my 4th pregnancy and this time my placenta is at the front. Iv never had this before. Is there anything to worry about?

I don't think it's anything to worry about. I had it. Anterior placenta, it's called. It just means you might not feel the baby kicking as much.

Agree with above, unless it’s also low lying and you’ve had a previous CS.

My sister’s placenta was at the front. It didn’t cause her any problems but she sound it really frustrating because she couldn’t feel the baby move/kick as much x

Both my pregnancies I had an anterior placenta. It’s absolutely nothing to worry about. And I certainly still felt plenty of movement, just a little later than some people do (around 25 weeks I think).

Congratulations x

I had a Posterior Placenta with my little boy, and now have an Anterior Placenta in this pregnancy.

The kicks and movement are a tiny bit more dampened but apart from that no difference.

Same here with placenta at 33+3. 4th pregnancy but first with it being anterior. Couldn't feel kicks until 22-23 weeks and now they are stronger than ever like previous pregnancies. Only problem I have is growth restriction with baby being under the 10th centile and not growing properlly. I have gestational diabetes also so cant know for sure whether it's happened because of this or the anterior placenta as both can cause it xx

Thankyou for the reassurance everyone ❤

I have an anterior placenta and I'm a FTM so cant compare movements but I felt baby kick from 20 weeks and they progressively got stronger each week. I'm now 39+3 & some of the kicks take my breathe away they're soo strong. Not had any complications with growth or midwife being able to hear/find heartbeat during later check ups either. I think drs and midwives are only concerned if your placenta is low lying and covering your cervix :)

I just worry isn't it bad for the baby to kick the placenta all the time if its at the front?

No difference between kicking it at the back!!

No problem with the placenta at the front, except when they feel the baby to gauge its position near the end, no-one noticed dd was back to back. Still wasn't a problem though, just a bit more back pain in labour
