Bleeding and Anxiety

Hey everyone,

My symptoms have decreased and I’ve gone from being sick 24/7 to every now and then. I’m 9 weeks.
I had a large bleed a few days ago and was told to prepare for a miscarriage. I went in for a scan and there was baby with a heartbeat. The bleeding has slowed and has now nearly stopped.
My anxiety is ridiculous. Has anyone experienced similar and everything been ok? I can’t even go to the toilet without being terrified and getting into a state every time.
Even though baby was there I’m so worried something has happened. There was no cause given for why I might be bleeding and was told to go back if it doesn’t stop.

I bleed at 5 weeks (didn’t actually realise I was pregnant and thought it was a period) and 7 weeks just after finding out I was pregnant. After those bleeds which were never explained I had a straight forward pregnancy and my baby was born healthy earlier this year. It’s awful when it happens and the anxiety is hard to live with but it doesn’t always mean a bad thing.

Symptoms do start to improve around 9/10 weeks when the placenta takes over.

I had a SCH with both mine and bled loads in the first trimester.

Yep - major period-type bleed at 7 weeks; I was convinced it was game over and I was absolutely devastated (4th IVF cycle). It was fine - DD is almost a year old Smile

Thank you. I thought the placenta was later as I was told my sickness would be at it’s worse now. Instead I’m finally catching up on all the food I have missed!

@Twizbe what’s an SCH?

It’s good to hear positive stories. Google says the opposite. I need to stop looking into it really

A subchoronic haematoma (likely spelt that completely wrong)

Basically when my pregnancies implanted they created a little pool of blood under baby. Gradually over the first trimester I lost that blood.

With both I had a big bleed at 9 weeks by scans showed baby was fine

@Twizbe I can only imagine how you must have been feeling to go through it twice. It’s heartbreaking isn’t it to think something might be wrong. I think they’re stronger than we get told.

The 12 week scan feels so far away now!

Second time it was easier as o was expecting it and knew what it was. First time I was sure I'd lost the baby. He's almost 4 now
