Hello,
It's embarrassing to ask this question. This is my first pregnancy and I don't know anything about pregnancy. I got BFP last week so I called the midwife this Tuesday. The midwife asked me some simple questions such as my date of birth, my name, where I would like to give birth to, if I was taking folic acid and vitamin D and that's it. She briefly explained me about the next process but I didn't understand it clearly. Should I call the midwife next week to book 12 week scan? Could anybody advise me when I will get my blood tested?

I would phone her back anyway and blame pregnancy brain. Ask when bloods to confirm the pregnancy will be done or if that’s something you need to book and ask her to explain the process again around the 12 week scan ie does she book it,do you book it? Etc Don’t let her hang up until you understand

Definitely call on Monday, but in the meantime have a Google for your local trust and on your GP website.

After I had my 8 week booking appointment, I was sent the scan letter automatically and they took blood at that appointment. This was all explained on my local trust’s website under maternity services.

I was in the same boat. I called my GP and receptionist told me that on my local hospital website there was a pregnancy self-referral form (check yours in case this is the same). I filled it in and I had to call a number at 6 weeks. The call booked me a telephone consultation with a midwife for 8 weeks (next week) and then apparently they will book the second half of my booking appointment for tests and the 12 week scan.

Check your hospital website for maternity services and call up your GP in the first instance as the receptionist will know your local procedure inside out!

These days you generally self-refer on most hospital websites. Once you've done that you'll receive all your booking information through the post. You probably won't hear anything until a week or two before your 8 week appointment.
