On my way out the door to a family christening, but trousers that fitted last week are too tight. I can just squeeze the button closed and just wondered is this ok for a few hours - none of my family know yet. At the same time don't want to do any damage to bump and they are pretty tight and leave a red mark. I wont eat anything!!!!!! I really have nothing else to wear

You poor thing. Could you wear something long over them and undo the button/wear a belt as a stop gap? You might find you need to eat something!

suzywong · 23/10/2004 13:38

you certainly won't do any damage to the bump but you're going to be very uncomfortable. Are you absolutely certain you couldn't get away with something else to wear?

northstar · 23/10/2004 13:39

Just checked, no belt loops
and yes ............ in general have to eat every hour on the hour, so i'm totally dreading the afternoon.

Have you got anything with an elasticated waist? Summer skirt that you can wear with tights and a cardi or something? Dont worry if you look not as smart as usual you need to be comfy. When I was at that stage I'd get really hot and dizzy and tight trousers were a definite no-no

suzywong · 23/10/2004 13:47

you know it would be worse feel dizzy due to lack of food than to look unfashionable, your friends and family may guess if you start feeling wobbly.

Vict17 is right, 3 months is just the time when you need to be eating regularly and to feel comfortable.

GO on , put on your trackies and a hooded top and your best pair of addidas

Safety Pin?

CountessDracula · 23/10/2004 13:49

Leave the button open and tie a bit of elastic to the button hole, loop it through and then over the button to give you a bit more room, then wear something on the top that covers it eg long shirt or wide belt.

Northstar, I think you need to think about telling people! If not today, then very soon. Do you want them guessing, or would you rather tell them yourself?

northstar · 23/10/2004 19:11

Just back, and into my oldest trakkies - mmmmmmmm!
and slippers
Kateandthegirls - the time just never seems right iykwim. Had mc previously at 9wks (11wks if you add the two non-existent ones) after telling just about the whole country and couldn't face all those conversations AGAIN.

Are you sure people haven't guessed anyway? My neighbour, who doesn't even know me well, knew I was pregnant by 12 weeks just by seeing me over the garden fence. Your family must know you a lot better.

northstar · 23/10/2004 19:24

Hi lonelymum, and yeah i guess some of the more astute (or less p*ssed) ones might have figured it out today, I'm just living in a "dont tempt fate world" for the moment.

Well I can understand your reluctance, northstar. But I still think it would be better to come from you as opposed to it being guessed and rumours.

And you're 3 months now - your M/C was at 9 weeks. That's a big difference! Seems like things are going well this time. (Sorry - don't understand what you mean about 2 non-existent ones at 11 weeks, I haven't kept up with your circumstances.)
