Is there anyone who preferred a c section to induction? What did you decide when it was time?

So we are expecting MCDA twins, I'm just over 34 weeks. On my 30th week appointment I booked my c section date for mid December as twin A was breech and was the presenting twin(has been from the start). I had made up my mind for a c section, if I had gone into labour spontaneously it would still have been a c section as twin A is breech. Anyway on my 32nd week appointment it turns out twin B who has always been head down is now the presenting twin and is closer to the cervix which means I now have a chance to have a normal deliver whether they come spontaneously or by induction.
We haven't changed the c section date as that will be the same date if I choose to get induced, babies need to come on that day if they don't come spontaneously. I generally would like to go into labour spontaneously but not sure if that will happen.
My question is am I crazy to still want to have a c section if I made it to that day? I really don't want an induction only because I don't know how long it will be till I go into labour and there is still a potential I do end up having a c section if induction doesn't go to plan ( twin A is still breech). With an induction I will have to stay in the hospital it can be quick but it can also take a while and I don't want to be exhausted by the end of it and then have twins to look after. I probably feel this way due to my last experience with my 1st delivery which wasn't great, not that bad but let me tell you a bit.

1st child born in 2012, went into labour spontaneously 2 weeks before due date. Went into hospital in the morning and baby was born midnight. I got stitches which is pretty normal I guess but I had lost a lot of blood so had a blood transfusion, I was weak and had fainted too, hands and feet swollen badly so couldn't take care of baby so they allowed my mom to stay. I was super exhausted, hospital stay extended to 5 days due to transfusion and baby having jaundice. I hated every minute staying in the hospital it really made me depressed. This is my 2nd pregnancy now.

They've called me around 7am for the c section, the twin specialist does 5 planned c sections a day prioty given to the most important urgent case. Doctor mentioned usually its the twin one they do first. I just feel its just going to be so much more planned than an induction and maybe Ill have better energy levels, plus it'll be during the day while in induction babies maybe born at midnight and by this time you've been up for so long and tired. I understand with the stitches I may not be too mobile, I don't know.

Also this time around I doubt there will be an option for my partner to stay due to covid.

Has anyone been in this situation, what did you decide? Did you think you made the right choice? Is there anything I should consider like is a viginal birth better for baby than c section if so why? Is there anything you'd like to say about either induction or c section please do so.

My sister just had her first baby 2 months back, she was induced as she went over her due date. Induction didn't work they had to do an emergency c section. She was absolutely shattered going through induction and as she wasn't dilating and baby was stressing out they decided an emergency c section. After looking at her I completely want to try avoiding that situation.

Thanks
Super confused mom

Hi, congratulations on your pregnancy!
I am also expecting twins, DCDA, 19 weeks!
Being a midwife myself- given your history of traumatic first delivery, haemorrhage, one baby now cephalic (head down) but one breech along with current guidelines and restrictions, I would be hesitant to have an induction. They can be very painful, uncomfortable and long process at times. There is no assurance it will be successful- even if it is, you may deliver first twin and end up in C-section for second. Inductions are a lot-physically and mentally. If it were me, I would continue with the planned c-section. An elective is more controlled and calm compared to an emergency. Your body will be less tired than if it had gone through hours of induction followed by labour and delivery of twin one - followed by an emergency c-sec.
I have looked after many women post-section and many are up and out of bed after 6/7 hours and discharged the next.
Again Listen to your body, only you know fully what you went through last time and your mental health is very important.

Slightly different if they were both cephalic and you went into labour naturally- this is less stress on your body that having and induction. Remember an induction of labour is technically forcing your body do something it is not naturally ready to do! Hope this helps! All the best!
