What was your NT measurement at your 12 week scan?

Just looking for real life experiences. What was your NT measurement on your scan and then your blood test result? (The one that comes as 1 in X amount chance) Smile my NT measurement was 1.8 and the sonography said 'a bit higher than we would expect' and then refused to say anything else, just said 'you'll have to wait for your blood test results'. But apparently they're taking 2-3 weeks during Covid so I slowly feel myself going slightly crazy worrying Confused

My NT result was 1.8 too and my sonographer said it was absolutely fine. My trust don’t give out the 1 in results if you’re low risk so no idea of my number but I am classed as low risk (now 25 weeks and all looking good), so I wouldn’t worry too much, 1.8 doesn’t mean you will definitely get high risk. Results also tend to come back within a few days if you’re high risk and weeks if you’re low, so if you don’t hear quickly, that’s a good thing. Hope all goes well for you xx

ivfbeenbusy · 01/12/2020 07:51

1.8 isn't high at all - I think the cut off is 2.5mm

hellymum21 · 01/12/2020 08:04

Mine was 1.9 and my bloods cane back 1:7580 chance which I was so happy with as I'm 40 and really expected to be higher risk. I was under the impression anything under 2.5 perfectly normal? Sounds like you've been given unnecessary worry @frenchdoors

Trinpy · 01/12/2020 08:36

1.8 is completely fine and nothing to worry about. I'm sorry they scared you like that Flowers.

For reference, mine was 11 and my baby's risk of Downs was 1:11 and risk of Edwards/Pataus 1:33 but he does not have any of these conditions.

Parkandride · 01/12/2020 08:43

That doesn't sound high, I was 1.6mm and told that was good. Not nice if you've been scared unnecessarily Flowers

frenchdoors · 01/12/2020 08:43

Oh, thanks all for the messages. I feel so much better after seeing your replies SmileGrin

1.8 is absolutely fine. Surprised your sonographer said that. Mine was around this mark, I had harmony done prior so it was low risk

MummyOfZog · 01/12/2020 11:01

1.4mm and my results we 1:10000. My sonographer suggested anything over 2mm-2.5mm would be considered high, so 1.8mm is totally fine I think!

SunnySideUp2020 · 01/12/2020 11:08

My NT was 1.0 mm.
Combined risks for T21 & T18/13 was 1 in 10000

I think 1.8 is good! Not sure why he would say that.
Only thing is depending on how far along you actually are (CRL) the NT range varies slightly.

PinkPlantCase · 01/12/2020 11:14

My blood test results were really fast. I had the scan and the blood tests on a Wednesday and we had the results in the post on the Friday so very quick turn around.

Can’t help with the measurement as the sonographer just said ‘within normal range’

Poppiesway1 · 01/12/2020 11:20

@frenchdoors your NT measurement is within normal range. I don’t understand why the Sonographer said it was high!! I’m a nuchal screening services Sonographer and this is an inappropriate statement. Do you have your scan report, can you double check what they have documented? Maybe they read it wrong and then realised what it was. Either way, unnecessary concern for you.

frenchdoors · 01/12/2020 12:58

Thank you all. I feel much better now. I have no idea why he said it. I did find it confusing because when I'd done my research after the scan, everything pointed to 1.8mm being OK! I can actually stop stressing now Grin

I'm expecting twins and baby one was 1.5mm where as baby 2 was 1.8mm.

The blood tests came back as.
Twin one - downs syndrome 1in 1832 and the other two were 1 in 10000

Twin 2 - downs syndrome 1 in 3000 and the same for the other 2 so 1 in 10000.

Letter also confirmed low risk of this helps!

MimiDaisy11 · 01/12/2020 16:06

I had my scan today and it was 1.7mm. She said she was doing measurements and that it all looked good. She didn't actually tell me anything about NT measurement and I just looked it up in my notes just now as hadn't heard of this.

That's bad that they scared you as it's well within normal like others said.

ThisMammaCat · 01/12/2020 19:35

Hi! Mine was 2.8, and nothing at all about it being in the high end of normal was even mentioned. My risk after bloods came in at 1 in 212 for T21 and 1 in 100k for T13 and T18. Bit naughty of the sonographer to say something like that to you!

I was told 14 days for the letter with the full risk in it, but it came after 4 days, which gave me a small heart attack moment- just mentioning it incase your letter is surprisingly early- don't panic if so- they have to say 2-3 weeks because if they don't and it does take that long, people can worry.

Nat4392 · 01/12/2020 19:50

Mine was 1.3mm still waiting for blood results

Funkypolar · 01/12/2020 21:22

Mine was 1.8mm and came back 1:7961 for Downs Syndrome and

GanderousGoose · 01/12/2020 21:26

Had mine today - 1.7mm and told this was completely fine.

IncyWincySpiderOnRepeat · 01/12/2020 21:38

Mine was 2.1mm, am 35, overall risk came back 1:7500 for Downs and 1:10000 for the other two. 1.8 is well within the normal range and as far as I know nothing to worry about at all. My baby is now 1 month old and completely healthy. Results letter also arrived for me within 4 days after being told several weeks so hopefully you won’t have to wait too long.

nomorespaghetti · 01/12/2020 21:41

My first it was 2mm and I was given a “low risk” result (didn’t get a 1 in xxxx value). I think it was similar with my second. That’s really unprofessional of the sonographer to worry you unnecessarily! 1.8 is well within normal limits!

Nat4392 · 02/12/2020 13:17

Just got my results NT was 1.3mm. Downs risk 1:7400, others 1:100000. It’s apparently low risk

doadeer · 02/12/2020 13:19

4.6mm high risk

RoseA89 · 02/12/2020 15:02

Hi, mine was 2.0mm and the final result came back as 1 in 100,000!

LemonRizzle · 02/12/2020 15:26

Mine was 1.9mm and results in the post 4 days later (last week) downs risk 1:5657 Edward's and Patau's 1:100000 I'm 29, I didn't ask about blood results leading to those results, didn't feel like I needed to know

DinosaurGrrrrr · 02/12/2020 15:31

Mine was 1.8 too, I'm 37 and still got very low odds, can't remember exact numbers. 1.8 is completely within normal range, not sure why she said that?
