Hi Everyone!
Me and my OH got our BFP for our first baby a couple of days ago. We are really happy but also very shocked as it happened a little earlier than we anticipated! The last couple of days has been a mixture of emotions but I think we are still trying to get our heads around it, it almost doesn’t feel real just yet Smile

I am a MASSIVE worrier and have already been stressing about a gazillion things. I am a very squeamish person and always have been. I have passed out multiple times from seeing blood, blood tests, getting my belly pierced... And now I’m pregnant and completely freaking out about the thought of childbirth. I knew this would happen as it has always been a fear of mine!

I am only 5 weeks so of course I have A LOT to worry about from now to then anyway but I am just looking for anyone who is also squeamish and even better, if you’ve already had a baby, and got through childbirth... I want to hear your stories Smile It keeps going round in my head whether or not a C section would be best for me but I know that comes with it’s own complications. Any positive comments would really help me, pulling my hair out tonight!

Congratulations- deffo look at hypno birthing- it focuses your mind on the fact that your body is made to do this, embrace it, trust your body and go with it - amazing - what your body is designed to do is almost as miraculous as the thought of tiny egg and sperm becoming a person

Another one recommending hypno birhing.
I also really enjoyed the earthy, warm tone of Spiritual Midwifery by Ina May Gaskin with so many positive stories and useful information.

I'll be honest with you, childbirth was the favourite part of my entire pregnancy!!!
I did have hyperemesis throughout so was absolutely miserable, I went in hospital so many times and had so many failed cannula attempts they actually made me terrified. I was adamant I was going to have an epidural, I couldnt possibly push a baby out of my vagina and it tear and me survive to tell the tale...well, I had a 36hr labour, back to back, not dilating, but still managed to push him out with no pain relief and I felt like superwoman afterwards. I tore a slight bit and need 1 stitch. The adrenaline gets you through everything and afterwards I felt like I could do ANYTHING. 6 months on I'm still proud of myself Grin
Dont worry, dont get caught up on birth plans cus it wont go to plan and you'll just be disappointed!

@BeautyAndTheBump1 Ah your story made me smile Smile I want to feel exactly like you afterwards. Considering you had such a long labour and a difficult pregnancy throughout that must have been exhausting, it is so nice to hear your positive story, thank you! Xx
