Struggling to do any sort of exercises other than short walks, nhs website says you should carry on as normal. Previously I would have ran regularly. I'm 16 weeks so not big or anything but feel tired often. What is everyone doing for exercise?

Lots of dog walks but other than that nothing really.... I really want to get out on my bike (I loved getting back on my bike in the summer) but don't really find the time or the weather. Do what makes you feel comfortable.

It's so hard exercising esp with any type of morning sickness. Running is intense! Maybe just try resistance based training combined with walks. You should be able to maintain this in small doses and it will keep a reasonable level of fitness. There are some wonderful free resources on insta. Follow mamawell, on point training and bumps and burpees. You may find your energy increases mud way through too.

Mud = mid

I did youtube videos on the channel bodyfit by Amy. She has some videos where she is 36 weeks pregnant and they're fairly gentle so might be good to check out.

I did pregnancy yoga as well which was pretty good for relaxation but not sure how useful for fitness it was. Walking long distances started to become a trickier in the last trimester and I was worn out after 10-15 minutes.

I’ve stopped running. I’m too tired and sick. Hoping maybe to pick it up again in a few weeks (I’m 12 wks now). I’m still cycling to and from work so 10 miles a day 4 days a week. Hoping to at least continue that. It’s hard though when you’re tired and sick.

@Stars92 I also stopped running but I still cycle, ride and hike. Cycling is getting fairly difficult now but it keeps me nicely fit. I found running too much stress on my body even in 1st trimester.

Walking.
Walk 6 miles a day for the school run. That's enough for me.
I was running 5-7km during the lockdown but the walking is enough for me now

I’m only 9 weeks but still running at the moment (just a bit less frequently than before due to sickness). If you can keep the walking as brisk as possible that should maintain your fitness so that when you’re feeling a bit better you should be able to pick up the running again without too much trouble.

I also stopped running. Felt too sick when I did and quite faint. By the time I stopped feeling crap my centre of gravity had shifted and I felt like I'd topple over.

I just walked.

After birth I never ran again due to pelvic muscle damage.
