Mums can you help me out!

At the very start of November I found out I was pregnant and everything was exciting and rosey and still is I can't wait to get a first look at our second child next month , but the past 2 weeks I've been feeling and being sick and feel like I can't hold anything down and literally having a yoghurt all day as anything I smell or look at makes me want to be sick and I know this isn't healthy on the baby.
My first pregnancy with my son wasn't like this at all so I'm all new to this and pretty scared.

Has or is anyone in the same boat and can give me tips how to keep my baby healthy or is it dangerous what I'm doing?

Oh OP baby will be fine.

I had HG my whole pregnancy with DS, I was lighter when I gave birth than at my booking apt.

You suffer. Baby is fine. They’re kinda like parasites who will take what they need.

Oh your baby will be fine . :)
What's most important is you staying hydrated.
Have you asked about anti sickness meds?

Ihopeyourcakeisshit · 29/11/2020 16:09

I struggled terribly with HG. My GP told me not to worry, saying babies were like parasites. I got very worried as my bump was small throughout and I thought I'd starved it.
Came out at 8lbs 6. Confused

As others have said op, your baby will be fine, babies take all they need from you as they grow, thousands of women have horrible sickness and their babies are just fine.

Take care of yourself.

I say this a lot on here but ive had hyperemesis EVERY pregnancy i have had, pretty much from day one too.

Ive always lost more weight than ive ever put on too.

Your baby is Perfectly fine in there. Having a whale of a time, probably.

Just make sure to eat what you can for you. Eat for one. Take your vitamins and youll both be good xx

Exactly as a previous poster said they kinda like a parasite - it’s exactly how my GP referred to my baby during 9 months of sickness! Baby was fine. I know this is hard to believe take each day as it comes - please please go see the GP to get the right medication, I was so nervous of taking anything as it was my first but second time around I was on it and managed it much better with medication and finding what worked for me - eating little and often making sure I never had an empty stomach - the only thing I could eat 2nd time was flapjacks but used to just nibble on them over the course of the day. Hardly healthy but baby was fine!
I had a fair few trips to hospital to be on a drip for fluids but it all turned out ok in the end!
Big hugs and your doing amazing.

I agree that the baby will be most likely okay, but you may not be, especially if you can't keep fluids down. You need to get some anti sickness meds so you're not admitted needing fluids. I'd go and see your GP ASAP. It may take a bit of trial and error to get the right meds but sounds like you need to to avoid becoming dehydrated.

I didn’t eat anything but beige food for the first 18 weeks, and could barely drink anything but fizzy drinks! Don’t worry about the baby who will get everything it needs from reserves but DO worry about you and your mental health and speak to the doctor first thing tomorrow about trying some medication to help you. You especially need to get fluids in you. The doctors are there to help you and there are things that can make it a little easier x

I felt like this too and felt this way up until 19 weeks. I had people around me making me feel incredibly guilty for not being able to keep anything down. Just a piece of fruit would set me over the edge and I was almost in tears at my book in appointment when I explained I was worried about baby’s growth because of the sickness. Midwife chuckled and said she hears this all too often. I was overjoyed on my 12 week scan when baby was measuring currently and the sonographer commented about how I had a healthy active baby. I kept a cold water bottle at my side all the time and a pack of gum, chewing the gum would help!

I had cyclizine, I took one first thing in the morning before getting out of bed, one after "lunch" usually by the evening my sickness had mostly gone so I didn't need the third dose but I would have taken it early evening.
