Genetic transfer?

My daughter, now aged 29 has vivid recollections of her parents, ie my wife and I, administering cod liver oil to her when she was a baby. One sly my wife and I do not recall giving her cod liver oil at all, was this a thing in thee 1990s. Both my wife and I however do recall being given a teaspoon of cod liver oil by our parents, daily?, in the 1950s. Could this memory be passed to our children? I am pretty sure that cod liver oil was not a thing in the 90s, more than likely Calpol, was the medicine of choice then! And we are both reasonably confident that cod live oil was not in the home when our children were young.

Any thoughts?

Of course it isn't a genetic thing. She probably remembers you or her grandparents talking about getting cod liver oil and also remembers getting given Calpol and has fused the two memories.

@ApolloandDaphne BINGO.

Its her grandparents.

I VIVIDLY remember my grandparents giving me cod liver oil back in the early 90s and I know that my parents never gave me it. My mum however was also given clo by her grandparents back in the 50s.

So my great-granny gave my mum clo
My granny gave me clo.

My granny learned it from somewhere.

It isnt hereditary
