And I call and go in to be monitored, if he's okay the midwives won't be annoyed with me for wasting their time will they? I've felt a bit weird for the last few days but I've been too worried to call Sad but I feel like he's really slowed down and when he kicks it's not as much, he's still kicking so I assumed he was okay but it's nothing like it was say like a few days ago - I'm 30 weeks by the way and I just feel, I don't even know Sad

They are never annoyed. They'd be more annoyed if you don't call. Get right on the phone.

rosie561 · 26/11/2020 19:33

Yes, definitely call. They will never think you are wasting their time x

ChelseaCat · 26/11/2020 19:34

Call now. Even if they are annoyed (they won’t be!), that doesn’t matter as much as the well-being of you and your baby.

Hope all is well OP Flowers

ItsStartingToFeelLikeChristmas · 26/11/2020 19:34

I went in 3-4 times in my last pregnancy, they were never annoyed. Please don't worry about that, just get checked over x

Squiffany · 26/11/2020 19:35

Another one saying please call them. Now.

Alldayeveryday200 · 26/11/2020 19:39

Please call now. Think of your baby and how precious they are - I'm sure you would do anything to protect them. I went in 3 times last pregnancy. They always said to come in every time you feel reduced movements. If that's one or ten times. Hope all is well x

CloudyVanilla · 26/11/2020 19:41

You always, always go in.

They will never make you feel like you've wasted time. I have been several times with each pregnancy. With my third I was admitted to hospital because they caught a potential complication and baby was born happy and healthy. There is a chance it would not have been so if I had not been what I felt was overly cautious and not been checked.

It's never ever a waste of time. As a consultant doctor very kindly told me when I expressed similar thoughts to you, we can't see our babies in the womb, the only way to know they are okay is to feel them or get checked out.

anniebu · 26/11/2020 19:41

Would you advise a stranger to put their wellbeing on hold, because they might annoy a doctor? Probably not, then why treat yourself so badly? Put yourself and your child first. You are worthy of care and respect. Think of what you and your child need.

teacuptale · 26/11/2020 19:43

Go. The midwives and doctors there said to me when I went in that it’s common for babies to start partying when they are hooked up to the monitor, so please don’t worry about that. Don’t sit there worrying. Go. You’ll feel glad you’ve gone, I promise.

Esmeralda1988 · 26/11/2020 19:43

I went to triage because I thought I had a hernia but it turned out to be baby's bum in an awkward position..and they didn't make me feel bad for that utter time waste! Call them.

Bourbonbiccy · 26/11/2020 19:44

Absolutely call them, they told me they would prefer 20 calls from us that were "nothing" ,than 1 that was catastrophic, that could have been prevented had they called earlier.

Ring them, honestly,

KyraGoose · 26/11/2020 19:45

Call them now!

LividLaughLurve · 26/11/2020 19:46

I went several times and ALWAYS worried about it, but not as much as I worried about not going.

I read enough of these threads to know you’d always be told to trust your instincts.

Please go and check back in to tell us it’s all fine x

Closingtime94 · 26/11/2020 19:48

I've called them and they've asked me to go in immediately, hopefully everything's fine and it's okay. I hope I haven't waited too long. Thank you everyone - I'll update the thread hopefully with good news. I know I was being silly and baby's health comes above all but my anxiety just took over and I convinced myself it'd be okay but like someone said I'm sure they'd rather see you 10000x and it be a false alarm than not see you and something horrible happens. Thank you all for being kind x

Call them. They told me always, always to call if I was worried. Trust your instinct and never think you're wasting their time, you're really not. It is literally what they are there for.

Doyouwantanothercuppa · 26/11/2020 19:50

Don’t worry at all! Go and get checked xx

theantsgomarchin · 26/11/2020 19:51

They would NEVER be annoyed. 99% of people who go to be monitored for reduced movements are absolutely fine, thank goodness. You and the baby being fine is the perfect result all round, but absolutely go if you're concerned in any way. That's what they're there for

JumpingJamboree · 26/11/2020 19:55

Absolutely call them and go in! I went in 3 times with reduced movements and they were always kind and said it was much better to come in and check.

Ginfilledcats · 26/11/2020 19:58

I went in every week pretty much for the last 10 weeks no one said a rude thing to me at all! In fact they encouraged me to come back if anything felt the slightest bit off x

LJC1234 · 26/11/2020 20:08

Good luck OP ! I went in a lot with my little non mover and ended up having to be monitored daily in the end as he was giving us all sorts of jip with no movement ! He's now a noisy happy 5 month old ! I'm so glad I got checked out

Wickerbaskets · 26/11/2020 20:10

They are never annoyed - they always want to see you for this. I went in once for reduced movement and almost immediately the baby started kicking. I was embarrassed but the midwives were SO nice and reassuring. They told me they would rather see me twenty times and everything be fine than miss the one time something needs checked.

Remember that most people who go in for reduced movement are totally fine and need no follow up care - but they still encourage you to go in. They always want to see you for this.

MsHedgehog · 26/11/2020 20:43

I had this today and I'm only 21 weeks. Called and they told me to go in, and when I was there the midwife said she would rather see me every day than me not coming in when something happens. They were so unbelievably understanding. They won't tell you off.

SunnySideUp2020 · 27/11/2020 08:11

@Closingtime94 Was everything ok with you and the baby?
I am also 22 weeks and sometimes also worry about movements but being so early i am interested to see if it's normal.

Closingtime94 · 27/11/2020 08:41

Hi,

Yes baby was fine, I was admitted to hospital and put on fluid as it seems I was dehydrated which can affect baby's movements but he's okay :)

I think before 25/26 weeks they can't fully monitor you and you'll be sent to the local midwife who'll listen in to the heartbeat, hope everything's okay Thanks

SunnySideUp2020 · 27/11/2020 09:51

@Closingtime94 thanks for updating.
Good that you went and was able to get the fluids. Get plenty of rest!
That's what i thought, if i am worried i will ask the midwife to pop in for a doppler check!
