Im 90% sure on trying for a baby, but I just keep coming back to the morning sickness.

It was horrific with DS1 - Lasted until 30 weeks and was constant, it wasnt too bad with DS2 thankfullt (DS1 was only 18 months when he was born)

Im just worrying about coping wit a 1/2 year old and also a 3 year old who will be starting nursery in January - so I will have to walk him to school - probably vomiting every 10th step!!.

Its the only thing putting me off

You may not get it the next time round. I had terrible ms with ds1, but next to none this time.

Tiredness and coping with a toddler is another matter altogether though!

Ok, my experience...Had v.bad sickness with dd1 (hossy job for drip), then pregnant with dd2 when dd1 6 months.Sickness bad, but by no means as bad as with dd1 (could go to work) Pregnant with dd3 when dd2 3ish and sickness same as dd1 (sorry!). Right, how I coped...it was v.v.hard, although I worked 4 days a week (signed off by GP) so just had all 3 dds for one day a week.It was incredible hard but BEARABLE, but I think my advice would be that, even at the time, I didn't regret going for no. 3 and certainly don't now(in fact planning ttc no. 4 next summer!). In retrospect I would have got drugs from GP, and tried to rope in as much help as possible rather than struggling along...In a way, knowing you HAVE to deal with other children gets you through, plus just give in, give them a bag of crisps and lots of dvds while you slob out on sofa!!

i had severe hyperemesis with my second pregnancy (ds was 3 at the time but hadnt started nursery). Husband took a lot of time off work and friends, neighbours and relatives all had to rally around. We also put him into playschool 5 mornings a week.

It was an awful, awful time but you get through it and the end result is obviously worth it (although i wouldnt do it again!)

Do you have a supportive network around you who could help? Does your dh have a flexible / understanding workplace? Medication for hyperemesis can also be a godsend but you have to fight for it!
I can totally understand your concerns though!

I was sick everyday with both pregnancys. DS was 20mnths when DD was born so was pretty grim.
DS used to lift the toilet lid and pretend to vomit as this is all he saw me do!

No real advice I'm afraid except don't let it put you off having another baby.

DPs work place is NOT understanding, in fact he has a disaplinary meeting today as he had time off a few weeks ago to look after the kids when I was ill.

I guess I cant let it rule my thoughts though.

If Im bad with it then Ill just have to get on with it!

dd pretends to vomit too.

right now i am feeling soo tired (16 weeks gone) and guilty that dd 17 months has learnt the word beebies i wouldnt recommend it but on a good day its not so bad.

do your older to play together? could they play while you supervised from a distance?

Have just come to the end of my hyperemesis and ds is 2. TBH it has been so stressfull as I spent the best part of a month in hospital and I was lucky dh self employed and my mum had ds for two weeks and lots of other family members helped. But it was still terrible and I even booked a termination at one point

Having said all that we DID get through it and you might be a stronger person than I am. I guess it just comes down to how much you want another.

Sorry this isn't a very positive post.
