Post c section period panic

Can someone reassure me/advise the best course of action?

I’m 6 weeks post c-section and started bleeding a couple of days ago. I’m pretty sure it’s my period as it started slow and gradually got heavier. However this morning I soaked a pad which I’ve never done before and I don’t have any period pain when I used to have terrible terrible pain. So is it actually my period?

I have health anxiety so obviously have read way too much about things like postpartum hemorrhage and I’m so paranoid it’s something like that!

My period changed a lot after child birth. My period didn't come back until nearly a year pp. it was a lot lighter and not painful at all (used to be horrendous).

Seems worth a call to gp if you're going through more than a pad an hour though.

I had a similar thing .....had post birth bleeding for around 2/3 weeks , it stopped . Then had my period around 6 weeks after , at first it was normal , then light, and just went I thought it was coming to an end , I had extremely heavy bleeding. I had to use a maternity pad every couple of hours. I panicked thinking it was an internal bleed, but only lasted a couple of days. Everything was fine after that, based on this , I would say you are just having your period like I did. However if this is accompanied with a bad smell, extreme stomach pains , temperature etc then I would get it checked out

Every couple of hours may be an exaggeration , perhaps 2/ 3 per day of the very thick maternity ones !!

I had post partum bleeding up up 6 weeks post section. An unusually busy day caused it to be heavier. Bearing in mind the caveats above re infection markers.
