My mind just ran on this I know they take a lot of blood test and I know one of the blood test are for antibodies what do they test for ? Is it for rubella , chicken pox and stuff I'm currently 33weeks and my midwife hasn't told me nothing bad about my bloods so I'm guessing all is good but wanted to know what they test for in the antibodies

As today this little boy came in the pharmacy with a skin rash in my head I was thinking chickenpox but the pharmacist said it looked like a viral rash but I know chickenpox is viral so now I'm thinking I was around someone who had chicken pox 😫

Pharmacist would have said what it was if they’d known, so they think it wasn’t chickenpox.

It’s rubella status they check for.

I got my varicella (chickenpox) antibodies checked too. I’m in Scotland - not sure if they do different tests in different parts of the country.

Did your midwife not ask if you've ever had chicken pox at your booking appointment? I thought that was a standard question, as I haven't I had to have an antibody test and was told to contact doctors immediately if I came into contact with anyone with chicken pox before I had my antibody test results back (luckily I have the antibodies anyway and didn't have any contact anyway)

@GoogleyB yes she did actually I told her my mum said I had it when I was younger but I'm not sure
