Subchorionic bleeding

Hi guys! I’ve found out at a private 11 week scan I had a subchorionic bleed (no bleeding externally or cramps yet) and then went along to my 13 week scan and it was still there and not shrinking. Getting really worried as to what this might mean?

Does it affect delivery? Will I need c section?

P.s I’m 14 weeks now and having another private scan at 16 weeks.

I had one, I had a bleed at about 16 weeks because of it but all was fine. Think it's really common.

I had a subchorionic bleed that lasted ten weeks. It was biblical level bleeding at the start which saw me rushed to hospital in an ambulance and it eventually petered out. The baby that it lived next to is now two and a half years old and hassling me for lunch!

What did they say at your NHS scan? I think they would have mentioned if it was in a problematic location, so you should definitely feel reassured if they didn't flag it as a concern.

I had a bleed at six weeks and a huge one again at 8 weeks with great big clots, it was absolutely terrifying to be frank, but I am now 22 weeks and once it was out, it was out and I have been advised it won't happen again.

From my manic googling at the time, I think haematomas are very common.

Thank you for all your replies!
She saw it straight away at my NHS scan and it seemed to be bigger. I’ve not had any bleeding externally which I’ve been reading most people have with this. I’m just wondering if this is a good or bad thing????

I’m also googling all the time haha 😂

For some women the hematoma never bleeds and is just reabsorbed. I had one that caused a bleed at 11, 12 and 14 weeks. They didnt spot it on my scan at 11 weeks after the bleeding but did on subsequent scans. I didnt bleed again after 14 weeks and despite it still being on my scan post bleed it was gone by my 20 week scan so must have reabsorbed. Did they give you any advice after your nhs scan? Mine was next to the placenta (which is more concerning) and I was advised to take it easy and avoid sex. I did all the googling and panicked but I think it is really quiet common. The size and position are what can determine how worrying it is, the bigger it is and the nearer the placenta the worse it is - but it doesn't mean things won't work out!
