Please tell me your reassuring stories!
I had a scan at 29 weeks and was told baby is on the 10th centile for weight so now will need increased monitoring...I've had a look at the chart in my blue book and they drew the line on the chart at an angle so by my reckoning he's actually under the 10th centile.
Of course I googled...and now I'm hugely anxious that he's got a chromosomal abnormality or autism (there's a family history of ADD and I suspect some undiagnosed ASD).
I know improbably being ridiculous and hormonal but would really appreciate hearing some stories of how similar pregnancies turned out...

Both my boys were born with low gestational weight and are absolulty fine now.
Ds1 was 2lbs 14oz at 33 weeks, should be nearer 4-5lbs and ds2 was 5lbs 3oz at 37 weeks, should be nearer 7lbs. They are both still small at 4 years and 4 months but they are absolutely perfect otherwise

I am having regular scans as my baby is very small for his gestational age. 4th centile at 32 weeks. I have been told to keep a check on his movement and rush to the hospital if the movements slow down. Also that they will be inducing me around 37/38 weeks. Exact date will be decided on my next scan which is on Friday. I am scared to my core by all of this and cannot think of anything else.

@Mammyofasuperbaby did they give you a reason for why they were so small! Glad to hear your boys are doing well now.
@MnM156 sending you a handhold...I have a scan tomorrow to see what baby is up to and I'm driving myself mad with what ifs! Hoping you get some reassurance on Friday.

My dd was 3lb 131/2 oz when at 37 weeks and 3 dsys. The scan has predicted 5lb the day before. I had been monitored through the pregnancy with scans and heart rate tracing. No one was expecting her to be as small as she was. She had to go into scbu die to her size but was only in incubator for a few days. Health wise she is absolutely fine and now at uni and no sigh of asd.
On the contrast my son was 6lb 10 oz af 37 weeks 2 days and he is severely autistic due to a genetic abnormality, so it shows, asd isn't defined by baby size,

I'm on pregnancy number 4 and all 4 are SGA babies, I have regular 3 weekly growth and doppler scans, baby is currently following the 10th centile, I'm 34 weeks today and have my 3rd growth scan this afternoon and hopefully baby is still following the line, my last baby followed the 10th centile until 36 weeks and he dropped off so I was induced and he was born at 38 weeks exactly at 5lb 9oz, everything else is good so there's no reason for the slow growth, like my mum says maybe some women just aren't meant to have big babies and I can tell you it's nothing to do with genetics as my mum had 9 and 10lbers apart from me and my bro we were 7lbers but that's only because we were a twin pregnancy. As long as baby follows the centile line and movements are fine then I wouldn't worry too much. Oh and all 3 of my children are absolutely fine no abnormalities or learning disabilities x

Dd was measuring on under the 10th centile from around then until my last scan at 36 weeks. She was born 3 days after her due date. 8lb 3oz and on the 50th centile. The scans aren't always right

Mammyofasuperbaby · 24/11/2020 08:03

@TheBoots my first was due to severe sudden onset pre eclampsia that manifested in my son before it made me ill. And my second was due to placental deficiencies due to pcos and I was severely anaemic during my pregnancy too.
I dont do pregnancy very well
