Hi I’m 13 weeks pregnant and have just been given a 1 in 8 chance of having a baby with Down syndrome. I’m just wondering of anyone’s experience with this. What were your chances, how was the test etc
I’m very nervous and have the abdominal cvs booked for Monday

@Moosmum87 I had a CVS last week. My NT was 4.4, I'm 39 and I was given 1 in 5. Then my bloods came back in normal range and they told me 1 in 49. Decided to have the CVS and the doctor said you're still 1 in 5, bloods aren't really that relevant. I was really confused but as I was having the CVS anyway based on 1 in 49 I didn't question her too much (I was feeling quite low). The first set have come back negative and am waiting for the second set. I would be really interested to know on what basis they told you you were originally 1 in 8 especially if the midwife is now telling you that nothing jumps out from your numbers.

I hope you don't have to wait too long for your IONA results and that you are bearing up - I know how hard all this uncertainty is when you just want to be excited about being pregnant.
