Empty gestational sac

We went for a private scan thinking we were 6 weeks and the gestational sac was visible, however no yolk or embryo. We’re due to go back tomorrow. It may be me being optimistic but the more I look at the pic the more I think I can see something?

Has anyone else been in this position? It’s our first baby and really hoping I ovulated later hence the scan not showing what we would have hoped yet. The sac measured 14mm, I’ve had cramping but no bleeding and have nausea, sore boobs and tiredness.

Be interesting to hear if anyone has been in this position x

Sorry you’re joining us @Bobs82. You’re right, the wait and not knowing for sure is the worst thing

Kitte321 · 26/11/2020 16:29

So sorry @Bobs82 life can be so unfair. But I completely understand the need to be 1000% certain in your decision.

Bobs82 · 26/11/2020 17:18

@Kitte321 @Sunbird24 it certainly is unfair, I’ve had two other miscarriages since May 😟. Hope you’re both ok x

Kitte321 · 26/11/2020 17:31

Oh god @Bobs82 that is really really unfair. I’m really sorry, you deserve a break that’s for sure. Will you be able to access help now if the news isn’t good? I do hope so.

My MC has started this morning, in a way I’m glad that my body has recognised it for itself and is responding appropriately, because that’s an improvement on last time. I’m also relieved I don’t have to wait for it, so my FET can be lined up for the new year. It’s crampy and sore and sad though.

I had a scan yesterday at the EPAC and the dr said it was definitely behind where my dates should put it, but they’d do another scan next Friday and if it hadn’t grown any then they’d do an ERPC. I’m really glad I didn’t actually take any hope from that, and think it was potentially quite an irresponsible thing to say.

Hi @Sunbird24, I get what you mean about your body responding itself, it's almost like you feel you're getting some of the control back after so much limbo. I hope you are doing ok, please keep posting to let us know how you're feeling.

I've been having light spotting but nothing more, it's a long way to go to the next scan next Thursday x

Kitte321 · 27/11/2020 11:47

I don’t know what to say @Sunbird24 it’s positive on one hand that you’re body is reacting as it should but also an emotional process I’m sure.
I still have absolutely nothing happening, no spotting, no cramping - nothing.
I’ve already spoken to BUPA because I don’t think I can face medical management and they’re not offering anything else because of Covid. What a shit situation for us all.
Thinking of you over the next couple of days x

Bobs82 · 27/11/2020 16:30

@Sunbird24 I’m so sorry to hear you’re going through this. I know how sad and distressing it is. Thinking of you. Can I please ask how many weeks you are...did they measure the sac? X

Sunbird24 · 27/11/2020 18:01

Hi @Bobs82 I should have been 8 weeks, but the sac was really small. I’m sure they did measure it but they didn’t say what it was

Bobs82 · 27/11/2020 18:19

@Sunbird24 take care of yourself chick. Rest up and don’t hesitate to get in touch if you need to as I know it’s hard as it’s such an unspoken topic.
