Here’s my list:
If I have missed anything or have something on my list which is complete irrelevant, please let me know :)

Looks like a great list! The only thing I would consider is your own pillow? I took my V pillow with me, helped me feel more comfy and also helped with support when I was feeding baby.
But over all, that is a brilliant list!

shreddednips · 10/11/2020 13:30

An excellent list! I would also suggest those big tena lady disposable pants instead of maternity pads as they are pretty peak proof and comfy. Also, a water bottle with one of those sports caps so that you can squirt it over your bits while you pee post-partum. Stops it stinging.

Itllbeaninterestingchristmas · 10/11/2020 13:33

I’d take more baby clothes and nappies both mine got through loads. We were only in for 36 hours.
Water wipes are good as then you don’t have to walk to get water every nappy change.

excitednerves · 10/11/2020 13:37

Great list! Remember to bring your maternity notes too. I’m keeping mine beside my bag so I definitely don’t forget

excitednerves · 10/11/2020 13:37

Oh and another vote for tena pants here too

HollowTalk · 10/11/2020 13:43

This Vichy water spray is really lovely during labour - keep it in the fridge beforehand.

domesticslattern · 10/11/2020 13:44

I would take off dummy if you are going to try to breastfeed.
I would add painkillers (just a pack of ibuprofen for example) and double the number of maternity pads. However many you pack it will not be enough!
good luck Smile

Just Incase bag and thank you

I'd pack more newborn size clothes unless you're expecting a big baby. Mine was 7lb7 so fairly average and didn't fit 0-3 clothes until at least 6 weeks old! And we got through way more vests/grows than that and were only in about 3 days.

InsanelyTired · 10/11/2020 14:01

I would also say more vests and baby grows, boys of mine were very sicky in the first few days, they say it's where they've swallowed the amniotic fluid I think?
Also, water wipes, I took in cotton wool and a pack of those, and the midwife suggested using the water wipes for the first couple of poos as it's like thick tar and it's just a faff with cotton wool.

Good luck Smile

Trixie18 · 10/11/2020 14:08

I would add dressing gown, slippers, socks, nursing bra, toothbrush and toothpaste, peppermint tea, paracetamol and moisturiser, super soft sponge (boots). Also some things for your birthing partner (change of clothes, toothbrush, my poor husband spent 3 days in hospital with us with nothing 🤭). Don't forget to put the car seat in the car. Good luck, sorry if I've put down things you had on your list I didn't see xx

movingonup20 · 10/11/2020 14:39

Don't worry about formula or bottles, in emergency the hospital have them.

Looks good. I'd also add...

Pillows and blanket (for you)
Snacks
Straws or a bottle with straw as it's impossible to sip water otherwise

PolarBearStrength · 10/11/2020 16:53

What are the visiting hours/current rules at your hospital? A lot of the stuff you’ve listed like nipple shields, nipple cream, breast pads, dummies, formula, bits spray etc. Seem like non-essentials unless you know you’re definitely going to be in for days and/or your partner isn’t allowed to visit at all.

Ledav · 11/11/2020 00:00

One thing that i thought was super handy is to bring is a plastic bag to put all of your dirty clothes and underwear in, it made it so much easier than faffing trying to find the clean stuff in your bag

GrubbsGrady · 23/11/2020 11:27

For snacks i took heinz cup soups Nak'd bars and protein bars plus the ward had a fridge with sandwiches yoghurt and fruit to help myself to if your breastfeeding you'll want a ton of calories to really get your milk supply going its the perfect excuse foe tea and cake Wink also recommend tena pants instead of pads for the first couple of weeks and on the ward they give you their own painkillers prescribed i brought my own but they didnt allow me to take them Confused i gave birth Jan 2020 so it might be different for you

Cupoftchaiagain · 23/11/2020 11:31

No food??? Other than that looks great.

Pipperleen · 23/11/2020 11:47

I would say another nightie (I was unexpectedly in for 3 days after birth and that’s all I wore) and definitely your own pillow, mainly because the hospital ones are so flat! I liked having a squishier one for laying baby on whilst trying to feed her and then to lay my head on when I managed to catch a bit of sleep.
