Any experience out there able to reassure me...?

I’m hoping someone might have some real life advice here...

I got my BFP last night and again this morning on FRER. AF would be due tomorrow. I have woken today with a really stiff neck/radiating down to the shoulder blade. Should I be worried? I read that ectopic is shoulder ‘tip’ pain that isn’t necessarily felt this early. Is that correct? Have I just slept funny?

I know I should see my GP, just hoped someone might have some experience to share?

I didn't actually have any pain with my ectopic. Are you bleeding at all?

Thank for replying @pooopypants
No, no bleeding of any sort. Boobs more sore than usual before AF which is why I tested. Then woke with this stiff neck. It feels muscular, but I don’t want to be complacent band get it wrong. Just not sure what is/isn’t a warning sign.

I only got the shoulder tip pain the day I had my emergency surgery.

I think the pain in your shoulder is from the blood of it had ruptured? I had 200ml of blood on the ultrasound I had before my surgery.

And it really was shoulder tip pain, no where else. Very specific.

I also had no other symptoms apart from a bleed the day before my surgery which was like a purple brown spotting in the morning.

It's very unlikely that you'd have this as a first symptom of an ectopic pregnancy if you period is only due tomorrow, as the pregnancy is unlikely to be far enough along to be causing problems. If they scanned you at this point it's unlikely they'd be able to see anything whether the pregnancy is in the right place or not. At this stage I wouldn't worry (I've had an ectopic pregnancy and it was only really diagnosable around 7/8 weeks despite various symptoms). Definitely don't be complacent going forward if you have worrying symptoms, but I'd try and relax for now and assume everything is ok.

Ectopic usually around 6 weeks+ when the embryo is big enough to start causing pressure in the tube. Keep an eye on how you feel though/any spotting/worsening pain, and if in doubt get checked out. But I’ve never come across an ectopic at 4 weeks. DOI doctor (GP and A&E)

Thanks so much. I guess I’ll keep an eye on it and hope it is just muscular. Did not prepare myself to not stress about every little thing. I’m in for a long 9 months I think! Mumsnet is such a lifeline!
