Ok i know this sounds like i'm babbling but i need some desperate reassurance...
Ok have bfp on Wednesday night and everyday since
They are getting a little stronger esp with clearblue - i can do them in the night after weeing 2 hours before and get a positive within a minute... First response the same albiet lighter than the control line... The thing is i've tried the 'early' tests and even with first morning wee the test is showing a v v faint positive although this does come up also within 2 minutes.
I'm now really worried after reading a few posts that my tests are not getting dark enough How dark was your pregnancy test when you r were 5 weeks? Should they not be bright blue now or should i accept that this pregnancy is not going to last?
Please be honest with your answers

i don't honestly think you should judge wheterh your pregnancy is going to continue or is ectopic, based on the line on a HPT.

this is the problem with testing continously, it is clearly giving you worry rather than comfort.

symptoms of ectopic are pain , one sided in the lower abdomen, shoulder tip pain, bleeding, especially dark brown bleeding

for what it is worth, you have a BFP, no pain, no bleeding, no real cause for concern

are your breasts sore/ veiny? are you getting sickness or nausea?

BellaBear · 16/10/2007 19:35

My pregnancy tests were both significantly lighter than the test line, done a few days apart. Am now 24 weeks.

You sound so stressed, please try to be calmer! (Much easier said than done, I know)

pepperpots · 16/10/2007 19:38

Lulu - my breasts are a little sore some days worse the next, but i have no sickness.... I know this is really stuoid as i'm so early and will prob regret this but i want to feel just a little sick co i know everything is going ok
As for the tests Bellabear how long were the lines faint? I will look on peeonastick and find pics of how mine look ..... sorry if thats a bit tmi

And the second one was done at 4+6 so effectively five weeks. You could always ask your GP for reassurance, although it will be the same sort of test! Obviously, I'm no expert, but it really sounds like a normal positive result.

BellaBear · 16/10/2007 19:41

I only did two tests because dh told me to stop being obsessive! And they're expensive!

I didn't feel sick till six or seven weeks. It's so difficult, isn't it, you are meant to be happy, but it can all be so stressful. I'm still not relaxed now.

Here's hoping you have an uneventful pregnancy!

hi, when i had my ep i got a faint bfp with a cb on the day that my period was due. 5d later i started bleeding and got bfn at the docs 5d later i got a strong bfp. my bfps werent really getting stronger but it sounds like yours are. the cheap tests are (tbh) rubbish. they are billed as "early" because the women who use them are desperate to get that bfp and they can make more money out of us that way. no pg is "textbook" and its impossible to compare. agree with lulu, if you have no pain/bleeding (classic signs of an ep OR mc) then everything sounds fine, please try not to worry.

and STOP TESTING it is NOT good for you.

good luck with the rest of your pg x

lissiethevampireslayer · 16/10/2007 19:43

that looks fine x

BellaBear · 16/10/2007 19:43

looks pretty positive!

it's all a waiting game now!

Lulumama · 16/10/2007 19:44

que sera, sera

and no amount of tests will change the course of this particular pregnancy

pepperpots · 16/10/2007 19:50

Thank you all so much
I will try to relax a little now

Hope everything works out for you....just wanted to add that I NEVER felt sick with my first pregnancy (she has just turned one) or with my second pregnancy (am now 19 weeks). So don't worry if you don't or ever get any sickness is not necessarily a sign, or not of a healthy viable pregnancy.

Good luck.

pepperpots, the only way to know exactly what is going on, is to have a blood hCG test carried out at 48h intervals. In an ectopic pregnancy the level of hormone in the blood is lower, as is the rate of increase. Your GP should be able to arrange for this to be done and discuss the results with you.
Wishing all the best.
