36 week placenta scan! So nervous

Hi ladies :-)

I posted a couple of weeks ago about this as I have a low lying posterior placenta that at my 32 week scan was still a little bit to close to the ‘OS’ (not really sure what that stands for but I think it’s the opening of cervix) it was 19mm and the hospital wanted between 20-25mm. I have my final scan tomorrow to see if it’s moved anymore or if it’s a section and I’m just so nervous I’ve had so many sleepless nights worrying.

I’m really hoping it’s moved so I can go try avoid a section just for the fact my husband will be back to work shortly after birth and il have school run to do with daughter and I’m worrying about managing especially with us being in another lockdown and not having help from family members or being able to drive for a few weeks :-(

Has anyone had their 36 week scan and it was good news? I believe because it’s posterior it’s less likely to move but midwife did say he’s head down and very low so that could be a good sign it’s shifted a bit! I’m not sure if full bladder is needed for this scan either or could that push it down and make it look lower? (Yes I’m aware I sound crazy haha)

Sorry if I sound silly I’m just panicking and doubt I’ll see tonight for worrying so if anyone wants to chat and try to take my mind off it or tell me their experiences that would be very much welcomed :-)

Also positive c sec stories would be good!

Xx

I have a scan tomorrow too just to double check my placenta. I had one at 32 weeks and they said mine had moved up but the baby's head was in the way so doing another to double check. I didn't have a full bladder at my last so assuming i won't for this one.
In regards to csections. I have 2 friends that have had them, one in march and the other last July and they haven't had issues with theirs.
I think (best to check as not sure) that you can create a childcare bubble with someone outside your household. May be useful for a few weeks if you need to recover from a csection.
I hope your scan goes well and its goid news 🙂

Aww that’s great news about your placenta moving and good luck for tomorrow’s scan too! I was told I may have to have an internal scan tomorrow if they can’t see placenta! I had a growth scan earlier this week and the midwife could see placenta but said because baby was low she couldn’t get a good luck! I think I just want to know now and be able to prepare! Hoping my husband can take 2 weeks off but his work are mithering already about needing him in which is frustrating! Hoping family may be able to help although my grandparents who are my main help with childcare are shielding due to my grandad being on chemo so I wouldn’t even want to risk it. I’m sure we will get on with it and everything will work out im just a worrier! Let me know how you get on tomorrow xx

Is your partner not taking his 2 weeks paternity leave? Only ask because I've had a c section before and was up and about walking etc within 4-5 days so assuming you don't have to drive to the school and can walk you'll be surprised how quickly You can be up and about and can carry on doing the school run and he'll only need to cover a few days
