I have just had my 20 week scan and chose not to find out the sex of the baby. But looking at the photo I think I can see 2 circles which I think are part of a boy's parts - what do you think?

Could also be loops of umbilical cord, or anything really... I wouldn't go out an buy loads of blue things with firemen on them based on that

I'm afraid you'll just have to stick with your original decision and buy lots of yellow...

... or green...

Oh blimey

I really wouldnt take that as anything.

I only knew this 3rd baby was a boy because of the large stick like thing poking out between the babys legs lol.
Other than that, I wouldnt have a clue what to look for.

Girls can often be mistaken for a boy because their bits are quite swollen to start with.

Yep it could easily be swollen girl's bits! I have one of each inside and even when the sonographer showed me exactly what she saw as girls and boys bits I would not have been able to tell, esp the girl.

Had my 22 week-scan yesterday - and it was horrible. The doc doing the scan kept pressing really hard on my bump because she said the baby was in a position where it was difficult to photograph and it really really hurt. And she kept saying that the baby was 'naughty' because it had both hands in front of its face and I felt like yelling at her and saying leave the poor mite alone it doesn't want its pic taken and stop telling it off its only little and doesn't know any better and is probably scared out of its wits to be poked and prodded so aggressively... but of course I said nothing and let myself be subjected to nearly 40 minutes of this. Came home feeling sore, cross, ill and a bit abused.

Why does one feel so disempowered and intimidated at antenatal appointments? And does anyone else feel that hospital staff in obstetrics should get intensive training in looking after women who are already feeling vunerable and emotional and don't need any extra stress... a little bit of tlc wouldn't go amiss. I HATE going for antenatal appointments.

Sorry, had to rant - just feel so awful this morning. And very very protective of my poor little bump. Grrrrrrr.
