7 week ultrasound - did you have one?

I had a private early scan last weekend, I’d have been 7+6 by my LMP. The sonographer said I was measuring between 6-7 weeks, which makes sense based on ovulation. But the crown rump length was 7mm and I’m reading conflicting info online over whether or not that’s normal. They also identified a heartbeat. I’m just worrying that I’m measuring less than I should be. It was an abdominal scan, so I’m wondering if maybe the measurements aren’t as accurate so early on that way? Has anyone else had a scan at 7 weeks, and can you share what you were able to see? Also comparing my scan photo to others and mine literally just looks like a blob - again, could this be from it being abdominal and therefore less detailed? I should have asked more questions when I was there but I was just so pleased to see the heartbeat that I was pretty much in a little happy bubble, and it’s only since I’ve been home that I’ve been thinking about it!

Hi OP. I had a 7+3 week abdominal ultrasound. The baby had a heartbeat and looked like a blob. That is about it. I don't think there is anything to worry about as long as there is a heartbeat🌺

Yes its totally normal - they are just a blob then! The issue with private early scans is that they give no medical advice or input so you wont get info. At your 12 week nhs one they will do all the measurements etc

Hi OP, it's very normal for your dates to be pushed back this early and you'll find that at your 12 week scan, you'll have caught up. At 6.5 weeks I was told baby was measuring 5.5 and even though I could see a heartbeat, it really worried me but it turns out it's really common. By my 12 week scan when I knew I was 12+4, baby was measuring exactly 12+4

@Emmmie fab thanks, that’s reassuring.

@TheDaydreamBelievers true! My NHS one isn’t til 13 weeks so feels like a lifetime away at the moment.

@ShalomToYouJackie ah thanks, that’s good to know. It’s just so hard not to overthink every tiny little thing! Google is not my friend right now!

Totally normal for measurements to be different. Even if you know the exact conception date it's impossible to be sure of the implantation date and this the date from which the embryo starts developing. With my current pregnancy I had an NHS scan at what I thought was 11 weeks exactly but baby measured 10+2. When I had my actual dating scan baby had caught up a day.
