Being sick a sign of labour?

I’m 37 weeks and woke up feeling fine, but as soon as I ate my toast felt v sick and vomited. I feel okay apart from a little nauseous, but I’m worried this could be the start of labour as have been googling. I’ve not been sick at all during this pregnancy, only a little nauseous over the first trimester so this is not normal for me.
I’m not organised at all so this has brought on a surge of hospital bag packing and general nesting!
Has anyone experienced this? Or do you think it could be baby on its way?

Hello, it wasn't for me but everyone is different. I would just make sure your hospital bag is packed and you keep getting something to eat and drink when you can as you might need it if baby suddenly decides to come 😊

Could well be - diarrhoea is certainly a sign, your body often does a bit of an evacuation beforehand.

I was sick (as in vomited) throughout my labour, and didn't want to eat anything. It was hard to even keep down water. It sounds horrendous but I actually felt fine, although the midwives did force lucozade and haribo down me in the later stages.

Do try and eat if you can, or at least have energy drinks/smoothies/sweets. If this is the start of labour you will need the energy even if you feel ok!

Oh and yes, pack your hospital bag!!

It was for me. A few twinges then a massive vom... 3 hours later sat with a small baby!

@Macarena1980 I have had similar worries this morning. I'm only 31+2 with twins but have felt very nauseous and have had a few lose bowel movements, I've been extra gassy (sorry) today and feeling a fair bit of pressure but only in my lower abdomen just above pubic bone.
My first pregnancy I had lose stools and had an obvious loss of plug but this was all at term, my waters broke and I ended up going into labour on my due date and son born 40+1 but I'm aware this one will be much different being twins anyway.. so feeling extra nervous about early labour!

@emma911030 yes I’m feeling similar with the bowl movements and a wee bit sick still. I was also really sick with my first but that was after my waters broke during labour. Maybe it’s by bodies way of telling me to get a move on with the prep!
You must be especially nervous with twins coming. Good luck and let me know you get on. xx

I vomited with onset of labour both times. Drive to hospital with second (fast labour) vomiting into a pot that I grabbed on the way out the door.
