Secondhand via eBay or Facebook marketplace! Honestly they are such a rip off new and really don’t hold their value well.
Most people sell them before they are a year old so often in excellent condition.
I had a bugaboo cameleon for my youngest - bought for £100 - all the fabrics are machine washable and I cleaned the chassis with hot soapy water. Looked good as new when I’d finished. Sold it on for £150 a year later.

What sort of thing are you looking for? What is your lifestyle like? Any other children currently or planning more in the future? City living or country walks? Public transport or car? If car, big boot or small? Do you shop on foot (so will need a big basket)?

Depending on your needs (city/all terrain/single/double/with car seat or without/weight/car boot restrictions, budget etc), there will probably be another small/independent near you who can advise, and where you can "try out" pushing. Or perhaps John Lewis?

Marketplace and gumtree are great unless you have a particular model or colour in mind, where picking one up could be tricky.

If you decide to buy online (we did because of availability), Winstanleys Pramworld were really good, and a great price with fast delivery.

Smyths toys usually have a good selection 😊

If you decide which brand you want (from doing online research, for example), you can just order from their own web site.

@sunnyy88 I'd go to mamas and papas or John Lewis to try them out first- especially Folding them up! I was surprised at how different each one was. If you are short of cash them second hand online is best- just try them out first- even if it's a bargain if you don't like it it's still a pain to have to use it! Good luck Smile

I'm another one to recommend going second hand. The all singing, all dancing travel system will probably only get used in the first few months when they're really tiny. You'll probably find that as your baby grows you can't be arsed with taking apart the chassis and the seat and lifting them into your boot or finding a place for the monstrosity in the house. Most people I know move to an umbrella buggy or other easily foldable as soon as baby can sit up. I got the Baby Jogger City Mini GT and used it until DS turned 3.

It all depends on where you're from, in my area there are lots of independent shops which have a wide range of pushchairs and travel systems where you can go and they can give demonstrations on the different ones and what is best for your lifestyle.

I did lots of online research and was torn between the Oyster 3 which won travel system of the year last year and a Cosatto Wow.. When I went to view them the Oyster seemed a lot more sturdy so I decided on that one as I don't drive myself so will be walking lots! They also fold down with the seat unit attached to make it easier and should last from birth until around 4 years old so you shouldn't have to worry about purchasing a different one down the line.

Have a look on online4baby.com they often have sales on. Do be aware they often take a while to come

ShirleyPhallus · 29/10/2020 22:36

Mamas and papas price matches FYI, so if you find one you like find some random baby warehouse in the arse end of nowhere doing them cheap and show to M&P who will discount theirs to that price

dublingirl66 · 29/10/2020 22:43

Do not. Buy brand new

Second hand so much better and makes much more
Sense

My first bit of advice is, don't buy brand new. Ours cost a fortune (to me) at £644. He outgrew the carry cot by 10 weeks. He hit the 13kg limit for the car seat at 9 months and the 15kg for the pushchair section not too long after.

I do have a chunky baby, though!

Honestly, it's up to you. If you want a brand new one, Online4Baby have some great sales on. My sister-in-law got a great bundle from there for a good price.
