I’m only 4+2 so I know still really early, but I have these 3 conditions and I’m getting worried with how I’ll be able to handle the pregnancy with all the pain and tiredness and constant need for a wee 😩
I work full time but luckily I’m working from home.

Does anyone have these conditions and can share their experiences of their pregnancy?

I have IC...no huge impact as yet other than I need to wee every 10 minutes (or so it feels). No additional pain or anything. I am currently waiting to hear whether it will impact whether I need a C section or not... I will update when I can! Good luck :)

I have fibromyalgia and CFS and I'm 23 weeks. I've found my pain levels to be much better and the fatigue to be easier to cope with also as it's a different type of fatigue. I've been very careful with pacing and having rest days. I go to bed super early every night to ensure I'm resting. Don't worry too much, speak to your midwife and GP and try and enjoy your pregnancy!

My daughter also has fibromyalgia and never felt better whilst pregnant. She actually asked the doctor why she felt better and they said it might be one of the pregnancy hormones so she asked if they did tablets with that hormone in for after the birth Grin

I understand she doesn’t have the other issues you have but in terms of the fibromyalgia that was her experience.

I have fibromyalgia and Crohn’s disease (amongst other things). I’m just about through my first trimester and am surviving! I am tired, and I do hurt but it is OK. I am making sure I rest when I need to but am trying to maintain some activity as I find this actually helps. You will be amazed with what you are capable of

My daughter had been diagnosed with IBS, IC and fibromyalgia. Since her pregnancy she has now been diagnosed with IC, Bile Acid Malabsorption and hEDS. As a PP said, she's never felt so fit and well during pregnancy. Her IC completely goes into remission. Due to hEDS she had precipitous labours (expecting her 3rd end of next month). She delivered her first two after premature rupture of membranes. About 3 months after birth she sadly returns to 'normal'. Turns out her initial diagnoses were adjusted after her first birth as this indicated hEDS. She also had hernias from 'pushing' which have led to further hernias along her scar tissue which was excessive due to the connective tissue disorder.

Hope you go into remission and have a straight forward pregnancy.

Wow thank you so much ladies, you’ve all made me feel much better! I hope I can start to feel physically better soon. The peeing upwards of 15 times a day sure isn’t fun but at least my bathroom is only 3 metres away from my desk 🤣

@NannyAnnieKnitsKnickers oh my goodness I’m so sorry your daughter has gone through all of that! She must be a very strong woman. I’m hoping I will have a smooth pregnancy, thank you!

I don't have any of those conditions myself but as a health professional I work with people who do and there is a real theme of patients saying their symptoms went into remission while pregnant! I e worked with a number of women with CFS who have been really concerned with wanting children and how they would cope- all went on to have smooth pregnancies and are managing motherhood well with "normal" levels of fatigue.

I have Fibro and I'm eleven weeks pregnant. It's really getting me down. The fatigue is some of the worst I've experienced and my recent numerous infections are triggering another bought for Fibro although I can't take my normal medication or painkillers. It's tough.

Pearsapiece · 28/10/2020 06:07

I have fibro and currently 25 weeks into my second pregnancy. In both pregnancy, I have never felt better! The first was a like a reset button for me and my symptoms haven't been as bad since that pregnancy as they were before children. This pregnancy has been slightly harder as I'm suffering PGP and on crutches but in terms of fibro, it's been fine. I am tired but not exhausted and just going to bed earlier. And I find people are more understanding if I balls up my words because I'm tired as they can see I'm pregnant and expect me to be a bit tired.
Good luck to you. In my experience, it's nothing to worry about
