Hi. Up until the last few weeks I was having a great pregnancy, little baby boy has been calling my uterus home for the last 33 weeks. Then suddenly at 31 weeks I felt like I had been hit by a bus, started with headaches, vomiting, fatigue and breathlessness. Seen in MAU bp and everything was fine. Headaches and vomiting seem to have resolved touch wood, however the breathlessness and fatigue is worse than ever. For example this morning I walked downstairs put an agg on to boil, but the kettle on then needed to sit down as was breathless it made me feel sick. My midwideatmy spot on Thursday said this is all pregnancy and just to rest even if that's all day everyday.

My question is, is this just pregnancy do you think, has anyone experianced this and if so did they find anything to improve it?

I have zero energy and cannot every begin to think about nesting and its really getting me down.

Have you had your iron levels tested?

Nic2908 · 25/10/2020 13:11

@Sexnotgender I believe I had them done at 28 weeks and they were fine but not had them done since. Its never been suggested?

I have low iron and low foliate levels. I suffer from horrendous fatigue, breathlessness and dizzy spells when I'm not taking an iron supplement (and now folic acid) during pregnancy. I would definitely ask for blood tests to check this

Sexnotgender · 25/10/2020 13:15

Breathlessness and fatigue are classic symptoms of anaemia. Worth asking.

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 25/10/2020 13:17

I had serious exhaustion around 30wks and they found out I was anaemic - iron tablets have made such a difference. My sickness is on and off- prob punishment for having none in the first trimester

@Hatepickinganame @Sexnotgender thank you. Do you think the GP would do this for me or am I best asking my midwife??

I’d phone your midwife in the first instance and they can let you know, GPs don’t tend to do blood draws.

kkr168 · 25/10/2020 13:20

I was the same from around 30 weeks, I now 35 weeks & the breathlessness is gone, now that baby has dropped a bit lower

Nic2908 · 25/10/2020 13:21

@kkr168 how did you deal with it?? The only place I feel 'normal is led in bed.
