IVF pregnancies - when did you stop progesterone?

My clinic have just changed their guidance - they now say to stop all progesterone supplementation at 8 weeks as they say there's no evidence it's required for any longer. At the start of my cycle, I was told to take it to 12 weeks then 1/2 dose for a further week.

I've stopped as per the new guidance but am now feeling really anxious about it. I have heard that other clinics do advise to stop earlier than 12 weeks, and I think I just need some reassurance.

I did IVF 4.5 years ago and we were only told to keep doing the progesterone until 8 weeks. The IVF was successful. That was at Chelsea and Westminster.

The norm is around 12 weeks..

However, im 16 weeks and i am still on it as i bled at 14 weeks. Hopefully will be coming off in about 2 weeks

I stopped at 8 weeks and it was fine. Did you have a fresh or frozen cycle? I thought with a frozen cycle they normally make you take it longer - I'm not an expert though!

I've got 2 more days of my Progesterone and I'll be 10 weeks then. After my 7 week scan the nurse said it is largely 'belt and braces' after 8 weeks and may be a choice if the expectant mother want to continue. I chose to until the 10 weeks but I am so looking forward to it being over!

I was told to stop taking mine at 8 weeks. At my 8 week scan they checked and said the placenta looked to have taken over and Cyclogest was no longer needed.

I've had previous miscarriages and had aome real issues with anxiety and practically begged the fertility nurse to allow me to continue to 12 weeks. She reluctantly agreed but was adamant that I didn't need it and now I look back, I probably should have just listened to her but its hard when you are in that headspace.
