Hi. I am expecting DC4 soon and am hoping that this time I might be able to breastfeed.
My DC 1 I fed for 4 weeks before he lost too much weight and I had to introduce formula.
DC2 6 weeks and DC3 around 3 or 4 weeks.
I have PCOS and so, despite trying all the bf groups, lactation experts, skin to skin time etc, my milk supply was just never sufficient to exclusively feed them.
I did continue to combination feed all three but each time it caused me great sadness and the feeling of failure.
DC3 was born 7 years ago and I'm wondering if any new developments have taken place with regards to this. I know after I had my third I was told that women in the US were given metformin to boost supply but that it wasn't given on the nhs.
Anybody been through the same? I know it will probably be the same again this time but all the feelings of not being good enough are starting to resurface the closer I get to meeting my baby.
Thanks
